300TDi eating 200TDi rear props

My 300TDi has been converted to 200TDi rear prop, with a 200TDi prop and diff (due to problems with the doughnut system), it rides on standard springs with helper bags on the rear.

SInce the convertion its killed the UJ's on two props and now the sliding joing has gone. I have been using good used parts, so maybe thats the reason, but why is it eating props?

Mileage is less than 10k/year, with the majority being on tarmac.

Is this simply a case of fitting a new prop and treating it as a consumable item?

Has anyone else had this problem?

It should eat props if it's standard height. Are you towing heavy loads (a guess if you have helper air bags) so this may not help? Any slack in the diff? this coupled with heavy towing loads mgiht cause this?

You could try a new prop or get the current one reconditioned with new UJ's and slider (should be cheaper) then you can find out if it's a problem with the car or with used parts.
