Old Git Posted January 28, 2013 Share Posted January 28, 2013 Have always fancied getting myself a Defender, but as the years seem to keep rolling past at an ever increasing rate I've decided that perhaps I should go for a bit more comfort! Have been contemplating getting a Discovery 2, working on a budget of about £4k. Would like auto (never thought I'd say that). The purpose of this post is firstly to introduce myself, and secondly to get what advice I can to assist me in my quest to become a Disco owner! BogMonster Posted January 28, 2013 Share Posted January 28, 2013 Welcome The D2 is a great vehicle but beware of rubbish, there are some gems out there but a lot of dogs as well. Get a good one and you'll not regret it. I'd test drive an auto for a while and make sure you're happy with the Td5 with an auto box, it isn't for everybody and I don't much care for it, much prefer manual with the diesel.
