Steering adjustment - how much

Recommended Posts

I am starting to get more into RTV's and would like to get a better turning circle.

My 90 has 265 tyres on wolf rims, the steering stops are screwed in tight and I have no issue with rubbing on radius arms. But that got me thinking...

I was wondering if I went to 235 or 7.50 tyres how much tighter could I turn if I changed the steering stop bolts to something that would allow me to screw them in more as the bolts have that stepped shoulder.

If I had loads more turning circle would that damage the CV joints?

Cheers

Ian

You could get some offset rims, though it does put more strain on the bearings.

I have 265 kuhmo mud terrains with offset rims and the steering stops are set at 45mm with no rubbing...

Cheers,

Mike
