Merlin2a
Hi, hope someone has more ideas than me! My Defender has developed a major problem, its blowing fuse 2 in the engine compartment- 60A ignition, and also fuse 20 in main fuse box- alarm. Started last weekend, had just driven home, parked up so I could move the wifes car. Went back to Defender and it would not start. Nothing, position 3 on ignition switch dead. No alarm lights. I have had a go tracing wires, found small wire to starter solenoid had bare copper, sorted that but no joy- when you reach position 3 the alarm goes off and the fuses blow. Could it be the ignition switch or bad earth somewhere? Hope someone can help.
tacr2man
have alook at wiring diagram , see what is fed by the fuse, disconnect, and replace fuse , and start reconnecting untill fuse blows HTSH
