JB750
I have just lifted the 300TDi engine out of the Disco, and it seems there are 2 of the 8 bolts that fix the engine mount plates to the block.Does anyone know what size I need or the part number please? Thanks,JB
Boydie
Not too sure of the thread size but as for the length, measure the depth of the tapping into the block, add to this measurement the thickness of the bracket and a (new) spring washer, deduct 3mm and there you have the length of the bolt -don't forget to put a small dab of medium strength Loctite on it even though it has a spring washer. The measurement of -3mm allows for the unthreaded bottom portion of the tapping and prevents the bolt from bottoming even when torqued up. Boydie
OH, and always specify 8.8 grade High tensile bolts, black finish.
ejparrott
If I understand you correctly I think you're looking for the 8 bolts that hold the two steel brackets to the engine, for which the part number is SH112201 and it's list as M12 x 20 Hex Head...although its drawn as a pozi head button screw!
