Boydie Posted July 27, 2015 Share Posted July 27, 2015 No, not in my experience as it's a wax filled capsule - nothing really mechanical to fail. There are two -- if your gearbox has the oil cooler or just the one if it doesn't. In any case in their wisdom the Land Rover engineers have designed it so that if the wax stat fails it will fail to the "open" position, in other words giving full oil flow into the oil cooler.
