Transfer Box Part III + IV

Recommended Posts

Having recently twice replaced the front output seal on my transfer box together with a new flange I know with some dissatisfaction that there still remains a persistent drip of oil from this area. Can anyone suggest something that I may have done or not done properly which has prevented this repair from been successful.

I am also thinking about replacing the transfer box in the New Year with one that has a higher ratio to provide better cruising etc. Has anyone any experience of this and if so do the benefits support the potential cost of the new unit? I do about 35,000km per year and although I do a fair amount of green-laning much of my driving is spent on the great French open roads where speed would be an advantage.

Thanks,

Ged
