Keeper96
Hi guys We've got a 1995 discovery sitting in the garage at the minute as one of our liveries has asked us to out the 300tdi into his defender for him. What I'm wandering is will the swivel joints on this fit onto my 1989 90 to replace my corroded swivels? Thanks Jamie
Keeper96
Also if I can get the transfer box from him will a 19j be capable of handling the higher gearing it will it struggle a bit to much? Cheers
landroversforever
I think you'll be stressing the 19j too much trying to pull the 1.2 gearing. Regarding the swivels.... Yours will have the railko bushes at the top and the disco will have bearings so it would be a lot of work. Not really any advantage if you ask me. jumping jack
Could just swap the axle.
Keeper96
Is the axle a straight forward swap?
jumping jack
Yep, only difference as far as fitting goes is probably the arms on the disco are the thicker type, just swap them with it. Overall easier than swapping two swivels.
Keeper96
Cheers for that, guessing diff ratios etc are the same then?
