Se7enUp
Can anyone confirm if it's possible to remove the entire windscreen and frame from a 110 hardtop - without removing the entire roof? I need to change the bulkhead to windscreen frame seal as the 110 now has it's own indoor swiming pool! The solid "hinge" type castings seem easy to remove (3 bolts each) and from memory there are some bolts visible when the head lining is removed. With these all removed, can the screen section just be pulled/lifted out, or does the roof need to be lifted up/removed first???
western
Yes, remove front headlining remove 5 bolts along top of screen frame remove the frame brackets at each side where it attaches to bulkhead & the plates inside each end of dash. cut away any sealant extract screen frame from vehicle. Litch
The screen won't pull straight forward as there are a couple of steel locating pins on the top of the bulkhead that fit into the bottom of the frame but if you tilt it forward it will lift off easily enough. Litch
I think all you guys with water leaks ought to see about getting rid of those metal roofs. I have had soft-top LRs for the past 15-years or so and they have never leaked while my old hardtop did (also suffered with condensation which could be worse). A soft-top is dryer, warmer and in keeping with the original LR design. Remove your hardtops and free yourselves from all these water ingress problems!
western
soft top doen't work very well with radio antenna's & a full width amber lightbar though, prefer my metal roof.
