soakes94
The bearing in my 300tdi timing cover is slowly dying. I have a replacement front cover on its way. My next question is what else do I need? Am I right in thinking its just a gasket (ERR7293) and 2 seals (ERR4575) & (ERR4576)? Will I need anything else? Also any tips on doing the job? Or tools that would make it easier? (Im thinking about the crank pulley bolt in particular...) Thanks Stephen!
vulcan bomber
You'll need a puller for the crank damper, i can lend you mine if you want it. PM me if so.
soakes94
I bought a 300tdi timing tool kit to check my pump timing and that said it comes with a crank puller so I should be okay with that! Thanks though!!
Ohlins
Maybe too late, but there was a man on ebay that sold bearings instead of having to buy the whole timing cover...used a bearing from Jaguar from memory,as they're a weird size? If not too late might be worth a search to try and save some money? .
Disco-Ron
I tried changing the bearing once. I gave up when the flange broke. ... easier to buy the whole thing. ...
