Slightly confused by this listing, as its the only one i've seen thats saying for 'one ten' upto 1986.
Anyone know what the difference is, if any as at face value they look the same

I'm looking to order some new discs and pads for my very early 'one ten'..
Offically its a 'one ten' but at somestage in its life it was fairly modified transmittion wise to have 200tdi drivetrain.
I've read that all front discs and pads are the same, but I specifically saw a listing for 'one ten' front discs which makes me think that there not.
Also, I'm fairly confident that the front hub arrangment changed at somepoint in the 200tdi era...?
Whats the best way to confirm either way which ones I need to order? - I guess strip down and measure?

I've manged to get hold of an Alpicool CF45 with the LG compressor, happy with it so far.
Its been running 24/7 for just over a week via a 150w solar panel and a 85ah lesiure battety without issue and without starting the car at all which I was very impressed with!
At the moment I'm not using the fridge, should I still be running it? - Or leaving it cranked open slightly to breath when not in use? - Thoughts please.

This may be a terrible idea, but I've currently got fairly generic wind deflectors fitted to my 110csw.
The ones in the front work well, in the back, not so. I figure this is because the front ones sort of go down to waist height.
I was thinking to take the rear one and rotate by 90 degrees so it's essentially on the B(?) pillar .. was thinking could get something 3d printed... Tbh, just thought I could test this with a scrap bit of aluminium bent to shape and wedged in.
Anyways, thoughts please... Terrible idea or worthwhile pursuing?

Just for the future, I'm curious how you guys have wired them in? Is it a direct (fused) feed to battery or just off a cig / usb port?

Can I get the group opinion on this one please?

Regarding the low protection setting, I thought this would be an adjustable setting I.e 11v it would shut off, rather than when their is a known incoming charge not present as so to speak..? -

Whats the general opinion on Halfords £250 fridge? - With a bit of discount can get it new for circa £220
I went to have a look at this in store. My knowledge of fridges isn't great at all... But an obvious flaw was it had no strapping handle... Could of wrapped a rachet around it but not quite the same..

Thanks for the assistance guys... Got it all sorted without using a farm jack thankfully.
Old shocks were dead, had zero resistance and it is a million miles away from before!

Thanks for the advice guys, got it in, bottle jack and readjustment of the spring compressors got them in ...
Hopefully other side is a bit less of a battle..

You'll want to loosen (not remove) the shock on the other side as well, to make sure that's not preventing the axle from dropping more.
Hmmmm, yeah that won't be happening 😄... it was a proper cut them off with repricating saw jobby... (think they've been on for a longggg time!)

Hmmmmm, due to 'space limitations' its parked up against a fence on one side... 🤔
I guess wheel back on, and move it across and take both wheels off then.... For manouvering purposes should be absolutely fine without a spring in front corner?
Just to check, I don't need to remove the other spring / shock, just the wheel off should give me enough manovurbility?
-
Just in the process of changing front springs & shocks...
I've come to install the new s/h (OEM I belive) front springs for the 110.
The spring is considerably larger than the opening... This is with the jack / axle stand under chasiss and the axle barely supported it really doesn't seem to naturally want to fall any further than this..?
The spring is somewhat compressed on the photos and would need a fair (uncomfortable ammount) bit more to compress it fully, but I've read of them supposidly going straight in??? I could bottle jack on top of axle to chasiss but I feels like i'm missing something silly here!
No front anti roll bar, and wheel is still on, on the other side of the car...

The M52 was dreamt up to fill the gap left when the V8 was dropped, and the 1.6 box was to give similar torque at low rpm for people towing fishing boats and offroad caravans through sand etc- I thought it felt way to low geared - 1st gear almost redundant - and a 1.4 would have been absolutely fine.
I started off with a 1.4 in mine, but at 55/60/65 mph the engine bogged down I felt...
With the 1.6 admitidly its gained a few revs in the upper gears but I don't find first gear short at all, I had a LT77 with a 1.6 and that seemed to only do about 5mph in first wheras this seems to happily go upto 15mph or so?
I am running a Discovery V8 R380 gearbox however, so perhaps the ratios are slightly different to what they are in the factory fit M52s'

Is it @Adam001 that has done one of these?
I took his M52 setup after he's gone for the M57..
Personally I love it, can trundle along at low revs quite happily and will pull to the limiter and seemingly rev forever.
Pulls smoothly and strongly from circa 10mph to 55mph in 3rd without breaking a sweat..
I've got a TD5 rear section exhuast fitted and it is (for a old defender) very quiet at 60mph...
FYI, alot of people use the P38 bell housing and an adapter behind between the transfer box from memory, I've used at V8 gearbox and bellhousing with an adapter plate from ashcroft.
This means you can use a 'traditional' clutch arrangment as opposed to the somewhat awkward and torque limited P38 setup.

Meant to be good engines and I believe swapping the intake manifold for another BMW factory item is able to release 20-25hp extra from them.
This is true, but the heater unit would likely restrict the fitment of the, what I think is a slightly larger is size 2.5 manifold...

If you are looking for a 1.6 LT230 send me a pm, I've got a spare one sat in the shed..
-
I'm looking for some bolts this for exact purpose...
I believe, M10X 1.5 - LENGTH TBC @10.9
Does this sound about right?

Would it not be simpler to raise / angle the throttle?
Obviously not such a safety dependant system..

So it looks like I was been a bit of a donkey.. suprise! 🤔
The discs were nudging onto the back of the caliper bracket, instead of sitting on the hub fully.
I've spaced out the caliper bracket (suprise suprise 6mm or so) and the disk fits on and misses the bracket, plently of the thread on the stub axle and now I'm happy, as this is how I thought it should be! 🙂

Been doing a bit of google,
It looks like there is FTC3846 & FRC7329 which are both disks for a 110 but seem to change for the inclusion of ABS.
By all accounts there is an 8mm difference in the hat thickness - On this basis, everyone else doing the converison has been using the opposite disks to this (as if you were doing the converison you probably woulndt have ABS), hence the need for the spacer to push it over.
I would guess, my caliper would sit 2mm slightly to one side - I think... 🤔 maybe 😐...making my poor brain hurt.
-
I have no idea to be honest, the used discs can on the S/H front hubs I got hold of.
I've compared them against the new discs I have, and the looked pretty much the same at a reasonable glance.
The spare rear axle, calipers, pads and discs I have came from the previous owner of the car who was looking to undertake the conversion years ago..
Edit, just had a look in the shed, the rear calipers at STC 1269, the rear pad part numbers comes up correctly for a 110/130 but I can't find any documentaion on the discs.
If the front discs where a different spacing by its centre, and they lined through correctly, where the same thickness~ish and same diameter... realistically, why couldn't I use them instead? 🤔
-
Had another play around with this tonight. Got the thinner RRC spacer, the 2 lock nuts and spacer just about fits on the stub axle... With fresh grease and a good clean I'm sure it will go a little bit further.
The caliper however still seems to be sitting bang on, or there abouts at the moment. Thought it would look obviously wayyyy out, but looks near perfect. Can't obviously see that I've done anything catastrophically stupid here!???🤔

I must admit, a brought my alpicool fridge through Amazon, supposedly next day delivery. It turned up about a week later and I kicked off at Amazon and they gave me a full refund prior to it arriving and if it arrived I could keep it as a gift...
Turned up next day!
