  3. When I spoke to sportident, they said all the data is kept on the etag on the car, details are downloaded from the etag at the finish station, and if required a printed receipt of all points visited can be produced for the competitor there and then in seconds. you then download the finish station to the laptop once everyone is back in.All the results are completed in record time and with little human input. But you would need sportident software etc all chargeable and the right bits of there kit to achieve it.
  4. you will be ok you will be running tyres that resemble LP's :

  9. I will try bleeding it again, I have got easybleed and I think its bled properly but. I will give it another go to check. It dosent appear to be disengaging at all this time. The pedal feels good. I think either the clutch fork is the wrong one or the clutch is faulty.
  10. I have refitted the box again be delayed due to the weather. I have changed the spigot and checked everything it is still the same. Could the whole clutch be faulty, or the new fork the wrong one??

  12. just a reminder that we are still taking entries for round 3 of The Clubman Challenge at Mow Cop on 24th October 2010
  13. 23.1.11 in the book I have got it says Competitors which means you could have more than one otherwise it would say competitor wouldn't it. It means isolate the spectators from the area to a safe area, how you do that is down to you, have viewing pens close the site etc.
  14. Personally if you got ride of any kit carried on the front bumper bonnet etc, and your wheels don't stick out of the body work and if you have a tray back you have as near to 120 degree coverage of the rear wheels with some sort of spats/flaps/ guards what ever is reasonably practical. and all the rest of the stuff is fitted that you need for the road. C&U was the phrase used instead of road legal, as just having tnt on your vehilce doesn't make it road legal. and this all came about that if you have a road legal ruck with stuff fitted on bonnet bumper and you can move it to else where then you will be classed as a challenge special.
  15. I used 100M as an extreme example, basically yes, but that's not very friendly, so hence all our tape and no winching outside the area and building spectator areas on some sections etc. in 2011 if all use synthetic rope then the area can be reduced and will be less of an issue.
  16. Those of you that have been doing the Howlin Wolfe and some of our events will have been doing events from a set of SR's that are not too far away from the new proposed regs anyway. If your vehicle is road going then it needs to comply with the rules of the land and cannot carry ground anchors etc on the bonnet, bumper etc. If not then you will be a challenge special, and can be none registered.Organisers will have to look at class structure as road legal is normally one of the classes. Isolator must kill the winch and the engine a size hasn't been stated as already stated in another post. Most peoples winch and or steering pumps started life in some other application and should all be rated by the manufacturer. If you don't have a front or rear window fitted you will need to fit suitable wire mesh front and rear. The current rule for organisers for 2010 that can be reduced if all competitors use synthetic ropes is as follows:- 23.1.11 Where a winch cable or rope may be deployed the area of that section shall be no less that the length of the outstretched winch cable or rope and only competitors attempting the section and the observing official may be present in the Section. e.g if a competitor might need to put out 100 meters of rope in theory you need a taped area front back and left and right. for 2011 if all competitors use synthetic rope the area can be reduced. When we checked all competitors recovery/ winch kit at an event earlier this year everybody's met the criteria listed in the changes. another set of rules is being worked for events where hunting for punches is part of the event, so depending on your idea of a challenge event there is a suitable set of regs that can be used.
  17. Thank you for that advise, I was starting to doubt myself that was all. I have on further inspection found the spigot bearing to be damaged, I might have been like it before and I not noticed. There is a piece missing and it was sticking out a few mm. that could have meant that the input shaft was binding in the shaft. A new one has arrived today I will put in and find a better method of alignment and see what happens.
  18. The box and the clutch have come out again, just confirm I am right the clutch plate on the flat side is marked flywheel side and that's how I fitted it (flat side to flywheel and bit that sticks out facing gearbox) however on reading the Haynes book it says that the side that sticks out furthest goes to the flywheel side. So is the clutch plate marking right or is the Haynes book right??? the old clutch isn't marked. just want to double check before I do it again!!!!
  19. I have just changed the clutch on my 200 tdi discovery after some of the gears getting a little tight changing when hot when hot. On removing the clutch I found that the center plate was in a bit of a state all the springs and rivets in the center are loose. So I have changes the complete clutch, and a new HD fork, when built back up I couldn't get the gears. So I changed the master and slave cylinders and the damper. After this I can now get 5th 4th and 3rd, however still cant get reverse, 1st and second. I can get all the gears with the engine off. So I made a longer push rod, can sometimes get 1st now but still not second and reverse. With two wheels jacked up it appears to be working as I should in the gears I can get. eg put foot on clutch select 3rd lift clutch up wheels go round, put clutch to floor wheels stop so it doesn't appear to be dragging I was wondering if the gearstick might have caught on the transmission tunnel and damaged the adjustment or something?? any ideas please otherwise its a box out job and try another clutch.
