If the head gasket was goin would there not be brown Mayo kind of substance in the oil filler cap that's how I knew my old rover 200 was away to blow one it was a k series engine in that

Yeah that's what I thought safe to say I'm not going to be putting it to that garage ever again lol thanks for the input though :-)

I know read up on it I think the mechanic the car dealer sent it to has no idea about landy's but she's home safe now picked her up couple hours ago :-) so any work needs done I'll be doing it myself from now on I think

Looks like you could just use 6mm ply and paint it just cut it to the shape you need then paint it and nail it on that's what I'd do

Hey guys I have just recently got my dream car a defender 90 it's 03 and the td5 not what I wanted but it had lots done to it which swayed me. anyway after having it 3 days from the garage the clutch master cylinder went that was fine called garage got it fixed but also got them to do the fuel filter the one beside the back wheel I would normally do this myself but as I just got it rather let them pay for and do it I looked up how to do this and read the Haynes seems a pretty simple thing to do but I think the mechanic is taking the tiddle they've had it 3 days and he's goin on about valve timing or something to set the filter so correct me if I'm wrong you just do the purge ignition on let it pump and repeat 5 or 6 times then fire it up and all is good am I right?
