there is a resistor in the heater case, just under the plate where the wiring goes into the motor, maybe that's causing the non working problem.
Can I test this 'in situ' or do I need to drill out the rivets and remove the resostor?

Fan is free, easily spun by hand.
I may (oops, embarassed) have checked the wrong fuse, I read it as Fuse 5, so I'll check that first and report back.
Cheers

Hi All,
The heater fan on my My '96 90 has stopped working.
In order to help me diagnose the problem, does it run through a relay (and if it does, where is it)?
I know it's a numpty question, but I don't have my Haynes book of lies with me.
Thanks

Hey Juz is there a limit on tyres i.e can you run tractor type? I know alot of other clubs do not allow but thats more their regulation not site regulations.
Not a problem.

Weather is looking dodgy for skydiving, so this is a reasonable alternative!!

I had similar symptons, did filter, lift pump, fuel pump and was still the same, ended up being the injectors.

Please be aware, that this needs updating as it was agreed last night that we will not be doing both Sat and Sun, just the Sunday.
Hopefully I'll post again once the website has been corrected.

Looking through my spares box, I've found a bunch of seals that I have previously ordered (either for a 90 or a RRC) but never used.
I can seem to identify them, can anyone help?
They are all badged Karsons Automotive components and are in the red, Orange and white boxes.
The codes are:
MR 869
MR 874
MR 14115
Googling didn't seem to help, anyone here know what each one is for?

Hi Everyone,
Wanted to let you know about a P&P weekend that my club is organising. The site is in Tring and is easy to get to, being just opposite the big Champneys weekend spa place (your wife or girlfirend will know of it!!)
Camping is available for those wishing to do both days.
Obviously I'm biased, but the last event we held at this site was excellent. It's a big site that's pretty impressive, with lots to do.
Have a look here:

CANCELLED
Due to some cock-up or other between the club and the land owner, this needs to be rescheduled.
I'll update as soon as we have a revised date.
My apologies.

Hi,
It sounds like you have the same problem as i'm having.
if you take the plastic cover around the steering wheel off and look behind at the wires, there should be a blue wire for the lights, give it a tweek and it should turn the lights back on. thats the problem im having and how i deal with it, i find it keeps happening so will try soldering the wire on to see if it fixes it for good.
I am curious to see if others also have this problem and if so, how they dealt with it.
i have a 1997 def 90 and i also have a dim beam from the headlights as well as the sidelights when i put my sidelights on.
Hope this helps and makes sense.
all the best
Luke
Thanks Luke

Headlights on with the sidelights is the dim/dip system working, that's normal. The dim one is probably down to a dirty earth.
The missing dip is, 99 times out of a 100 down to a failed headlamp switch, quite common.

Cheers. Wouldn't that also stop the fog lights working?

Hi All,
I could really do with knowing about the lights on a 1996 Def 90.
Last night whilst my girlfriend was driving the truck, she said the dip beam just went out. Side lights and Main Beam still work.
On Side lights, there is some illumination of the headlight units, but it's reasonably bright on the passenger side and very dim on the drivers side.
So, Question 1, on a 1996 Def, should the main headlight units illuminate with the sidelights. I think older models had some kind of 1/6 illumination, but also thought that this had ceased by 1996.
Checked fuses, they're ok. Put a multimeter between the Dipbeam fuse and an earth:
All lights off - 0v
Side lights - 4v
Dip beam - 0v
I don't think it's the switch as the foglights still come on. what do you guys think?

er is it really in July?!
I should pop over as its only down the road...
D'oh! Well spotted, now corrected.
