A two day event at the very excellent Roundhill Woods, near Tring/Chesham.

For those of you who when last time, you will know that it is a fabulous site with lots to see and do. Very very big bomb holes, woody tracks, steep climbs out of dells and mud, lots of mud.

There will be driving games to test your skill and some family orientated events as well as the usual 4x4 driving.

So we are having both Saturday and Sunday for the 16/17th October

We will have a toilet on site. There will be no catering, so you will have to bring your own.

There will be different punch challenges and trials sections set up for each day, so Saturday will be different from Sunday.

The Saturday will open at 13:00 for a 13:30 start and go on until 19:00 .

The Sunday will open at 09:30 for a 10:00 start and go on until 16:00 .

There will be a very limited number of places for over night camping, In order to utilise this you must prebook.

The cost for 1 day is £25 (plus an optional £5 to join for the rest of the year).

The 2 day ticket is £35 (again plus an options £5 to join for the rest of the year).

Members will also have the chance to get to stay over (in your own tent), but camping is limited and prebooking is recommended - use the club phone number.

Please indicate your interest for which day(s) you want to come, and if you want to camp. This is by no means a first to note interest, but will always be on first to pay gets it basis!

If you send an email to info@burnhamoffroaders.org.uk he will then let you know how to pay in advance, and will then be able to inform you if you were successful.

  3. Hi All,

Cocked up the points on my RRC today, they're a ballache anyway, so was thinking of changing to electronic ignition.

A quick search shows that MM4x4 sell them:

    http://www.mm-4x4.com/range-rover-classic-electronic-ignition-conversion-kit-to-1986-easy-fit-1935-p.asp

    So, my questions:

How easy are they to fit?

    What's involved (I'm a muppet with a spanner)

Are there different kits and if there are, which one should I go for

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  4. yep, bolt number 1 (there is a second bolt fuerther along as well)

you will see that it it pushes against the back of the seat - if you tighten it the backrest moves forward, if you loosen it it moves back.

You don't get much movement, but I was able to adjust the angle of my passenger seat after my girlfriend complained it was too upright - probably a maximum of a couple of inches either way.

Cheers Eight, did you need to slacken off any others to do it?

  5. Yours is probably too late for this, but the early seats from 2 door and early 4 door models that had seat belts built in to the seat don't have an adjustment knob, but can be adjusted by winding in or out the two bolts at the rear of the seat, between base and back rest.

That spunds like what I've got!

So, it can be done, I just need to work out which bolts to do, many thanks!

  6. It would help if we new which model and year?

But on my 1980 and my 1993 Range Rover I can adjust the angle of the backrest by turning the large knob/wheel located on the side of the seat squab at the rear.

Front and back movement to bring the seat closer/further to/from the steering column there is a rod under the front of the seat which you pull which allows you to move the seat forward or backward.

    Hope this is some help.

    D'oh! Sorry. it's an '84.

The base is fine, I want the back slightly more 'upright' bringing the headrest closer to the steering wheel.

Is your adjustment knob on the inside or outside of the seat?

  7. I'm really sorry for you mate. I know just how you feel having had our truck taken from High Wycombe 2 weeks ago.

Will keep a look out, they are getting closer to me!!!! do you have any photos, or is there any distinguishing marks that will help us spot it if the plates have been changed?

    Cheers, Jason.

Jason, looks like they are ALL around you. Get some overt and covert security sorted ASAP mate.

  9. Did you set it up properly when replacing it making sure the timing etc was correct? Did you change the timing belt at the same time as if not, the whole thing could be out as the belt would have been loose inside the casing once the pump was removed.

Belt was changed at the same time.

As far as I know it was set up ok. Once started, runs like a dream.

  10. which pump, for a start?!

injection? lift? ......or even water? power steering?

how old is the filter? how sure are you that all of the connections are good?

    Injection pump.

Filter is 3 months old - fine before poump change, this started immediatley after the change.

Not sure about the connections, other than not seeing a puddle of diesel under the truck.
