  1. Right, it took a 1" breaker bar and a 6' scaffolding pipe with 2 people hanging off the end of it. A rough calculation says something like 2,500ftlb! Niamh
  2. I know several people who have done the same, nonetheless the testing instructions are quite clear. Niamh.
  3. That's an MoT fail sadly. Inspection G2 "Check that an anti-roll bar is fitted to an axle on which it is standard." Reason for failure "An anti-roll bar not fitted to an axle on which it is standard" So remove an anti-roll bar from a vehicle on which it was a standard fitment, and I believe it was on 300TDis, and you stand a good chance of failing.   8. Well we could strip off the front, rad, oil cooler and intercooler and try the 3/4" impact wrench... Niamh
  9. The thought did cross my mind as I was lying in the bath just now that I was more likely to kill the 1/2" breaker bar before shearing the bolt. I suspect it was a touch as easing off the pressure on the bar got it returning to about 15 degree off the initial starting position. Which chassis leg would you use, top of passenger side, or bottom of driver side? Niamh.
  10. We're just trying to do a timing belt change and the crankshaft bolt is proving extremely reluctant to come off, for example the starter motor trick fails. We've tried a 2' breaker bar with a bit of steel pipe slipped over it to give about 3' of leverage but it won't budge. So the question is how much more leverage can we try before there is any danger of shearing the bolt? Niamh

  12. I'm sure is can be bypassed if one knows which component on the board it is and what the "normal" and "triggered" output states are. Niamh
  13. Everything else seems fine, but if the damn sensor is so sensitive it trips on a forestry track it's going to trip far to frequently when we go anywhere for some serious fun. So which component inside the Theft alarm unit is the inertia sensor, and how to we permanently bypass it? Niamh.
  14. Cheers folks... never happened on our old 200TDi, nor has it happened on my '95 Disco. Now how to we disable the damn thing? Niamh.
  15. Yesterday whilst driving through some forestry my husband's hazard lights suddenly started flashing, pulling the fuse under the bonnet stopped it for the trip. When we got home we could hear the click from one of the relays in the AMR4886. Removong it, opening it up and closing in back together has cored the problem for now, but I wonder what caused it to trigger whist the Disco was actually being driven. Any thoughts? Niamh.
