  1. That's what I am hoping, it looks like there is also only one hole in the brackets (yellow), which connect to the silver bracket bolted to the chassis.
  2. Yes, I have the TD5 seatbelt anchors, the ones with two bolts. Are far as I can tell they are very similar to the ones you illustrated for the 300tdi, just a bit longer. I have penned how I think they will sit in yellow below, I think I may still have some issues with everything lining up but I will have to cross that bridge when they arrive: thanks Dan
  3. I’m really grateful for everyone’s input, especially the chaps who have taken the time to post up pictures. I have found the brackets in Paime’s photo on ebay for £20, I will give them a shot and report back.
  4. If you are right then I have the wrong seat belt anchors as the bolt holes don't line up even if you turn them the wrong way !🤠
  5. No, its the main seat anchors paime, i am missing the support brackets as currently they just have bolts and washers attached through the seat box! If you are able to take a photo under your td5 it might help to find out how they should be supported on an OEM TD5 Thanks Dan
  6. Thanks, Landroversforever, that helps a lot, its seem I have the part attached to the chassis, however it dose not line up with the pre drilled hole in the tub. The bit that is confusing me now is how these brackets connect ot the actual seatbelt anchors?? Below are a couple of photos of what i mean, the outlines in red are where I assume the brackets will be, in yellow is where my seat belt anchors were attached, there are obviously not in the same place so do I have the wrong seat belt anchors or is there an additional bracket (3rd piece) that is needed? In the pic below there is an impression of where there used to be some kind of support bracket (like what is shown in scotts90 picture of his tub, outlined in green, this is where my seat belt anchors attach: Could the issue be that I have a TD5 tub and an old style seat box so things are not going to match up? Many thanks Dan
  7. The problems is I really don't know what is missing, it's my first defender and it has been rebuilt with a mixture of body parts on a Richards chassis. The log book says it's a 91 but it has a TD5 tub. I will take some more pictures from underneath. Thanks Dan
  8. thanks everyone, its the tab like protrusions shown in scotts90 picture of his tub that i am missing! Any ideas? Thanks for the rubber tip Simonb 👍
  9. After looking at my tub today i cannot see how the anchors would mount to the chassis unless they are huge! below are a few pics of my seat box, I can see a mark where some kind of plate was once fitted but no option to attach to the chassis! The belt real attaches of the chassis outrigger arm: Any idea? Thanks Dan
  10. I thought so! Thanks both of you. Do you know if the belt real has something similar? thanks Dan
  11. The front seat belts on my (90 cab) defender are simply bolted through the think aluminium seat box via a m8 bolt and nut! I cannot believe this is correct since the seat box offers very little support, in the event of a crash I’m sure the bolts would pull straight through the seat box. I must be missing some kind of anchor mounts! Can anyone tell me how their seat belt attached to the seat box, both parts as they are both just bolted through the seat box floor! Thanks Dan
  12. Thanks, mine seems to run OK, just got the jerks in low revs, i guess its one for the garage.
  13. My defender 90 has had a TD5 conversion, it seems to run OK aside from being very jerky at low revs, i had put this down to oil contamination / injector loom. There was a small amount of oil in ECU plug. However after removing the ECU I noticed it is a disco one : MSB101181. It seems like the temp gauge also works in reverse. Can the wrong ecu cause the jerky issue or would there be other issues if the ecu was not correct? It is going to the garage once I have put it back together but the more info I can give them the better! Should I be worried about the ecu? Is it worth looking for a defender one in the mean time or consider getting it remapped? Is the temp gauge issue fixable? thanks Dan
  14. I would be intrested to know if you resolved this?
  15. hhhmmm, i was not aware the reverse light was not working, another thing missed on the MOT Thanks
  16. Yeah, im shocked it passed the MOT ! I have now got a new housing for it, i think i might try to bolt it to the tub!
  17. Can anyone tell me the best way to mount the td5 diesel filter on a 300 / richards chassis? It is currently ziped tired on! i dont like the idea of relying on a few mills of plastic long term! Howeverif drilling the chassis is the only option then I will fudge something abit stronger: Thanks for your help Dan
  18. I tried to replace the door locks today only to find there is a key part missing! There should be a small rod of metal where the red line is on the picture below. Without it the lock is not connected to the door latch Does anyone have a photo of what the rod looks like / its dimensions so I can make some new ones? Thanks for your help Dan
  19. Can anyone tell me what these cables are used for? Its a TD5 conversion if that helps? Te fist one is in the underseat battery compartment: Thos one is on the transfer box? under the center seat: there is a few more in the engine bay , will add more photos! Thanks in advance Dan
  20. After removing the mats for a clean it seems there is a big hole in the bulkhead: Can you get a bung for this or is it a gaffer take job? Thanks Dan
  21. Thanks everyone, expect another 100 stuid questions
  22. Hi, I'm new to defenders so please forgive me for what I'm sure is an obvious question. I have recently purchased a rebuilt 1990 defender 90. It has had a chassis change and a TD5 engine. Whilst, it seems mechanically sound there are a few loose ends that need to be finished/fixed. There is currently no bonnet release, no cable or release handle. There seem to be two different bonnet release handles, are the bolts in the attached picture for the later TD5 release or something else? Any help is much appreciated. Dan
