  1. Here's mine.......... its made from 5mm plate, i had someone fold it 90deg for me.... then i cut a triangle from the bottom plate, and folded the front in......... then put decent welds, and very small gussets behind kind of next to the winch mount lugs.... if that makes sense..... the cut outs on either side are for the winch hook to locate into..... with my ep9 the winch clears the rad by about 25mm, and the plate goes over the top of the front crossmember, and there is a section of angle iron welded underneath which is bolted through the cross member aswell...... the original bumper bolts hold the tray on..... and as i'm using a HD D44 bumper, the fornt winch bolts go through that aswell........... i've managed to kink my rear toy point, which is an 8mm drop plate, however the winch plate has remained as i made it.... even with some abuse.... ok, so not exactly challenge type abuse, but some good hard pulls....

  2. Technically yes, however the biggest bonus of the bigger intercooler is that it'll be more efficient at its job, and therefore probably better than two in series..... but then, if you are able to find somewhere to fot the second one, which will cost very little then it could be worth a go...!

  3. Looks to me like either the big end or little end, or both on number three have gone, hence low oil pressure.... that then lead to the piston boucing off the head... causing the damage to the piston..... which may have then pushed the head slightly off the gasket which caused coolant loss and high engione temps........... but, as above, i could be totally wrong!

  4. I fitted a mountney and took it straight off too, couldn;t live with the wheel that much nearter me, i ened up fitting one of these... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mini-thirty-steering-wheel-/300579678520?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45fbf1e938 bearing in mind that my truck is a 96 300....... they bolt straight on, there's a guy on ebay selling them as land rover wheels, but they're not.... they come off old mini's...!!! all he does is fit a different badge in the middle... these wheels are slimmer, and look more stock too.....

Best to check the fittings before you buy one though.... just to be safe!

  5. So, i've had a return to centre steering damper fitted to my 90 for a while, i recently swapped to a disco drop arm, and made up a bracket to fit to the front arm so i could still ise the trc damper.... trialling today is seems my bracket got mullered, and jammed on the way home..... so i unbolted it and removed the damper.... strange thing is, the truck almost drove better with nothing on it.... so, why do we have one...?? is it to iron out the wheel wobble, or make the steering slightly stiffer and more stable...???

And lastly, if it drives ok without one, is it ok to leave it that way.,.....???

  6. if it were me, i would remove the auxiliary belt, and store it with most of the weight off the wheels, ie, on axle stands maybe.... i wouldn;t worry too much about anything else, if you wedge the clutch pedal down, then it means the hydraulics are under constant pressure for a yr, which i woldn;lt think was good..... on return, i would then change the oil asap, coolant, probably the brake and clutch fluid.... and also get a bew cam belt fitted asap..... oh, and clearly store it with the battgery disconnected, or even removed..!
