  1. Ok thanks..i think ill go with the 265/75x16's..as they work out same size as a 31",,and are only a few mill smaller in height than my 235/85x16's,just a bit wider..not too wide hopefully that they hit anything.. ,,but i believe the 265 will not need any modifications at all, dunno if this is right..?....thanks again for all your help...
  2. Hi,thank you for the replies, looks a bit more trouble than i first thought... ..i may settle for either 265/75x16's(works out as a 31" i believe)..or maybe a 33" as ive heard theese need little modification?..cheers..wayne.
  3. Hi,ive been pondering on fitting a set of 34/12.1x16 tyres onto me 1990 classic..it has a 2" spring lift,but i have 2 questions...firstly,,will a 12.01 tyre squeeze onto a discovery rim?i have 235/85 x16's on at moment..and second...is there any cutting of arches or similar to make them still articulate ok..?..thanks,,,wayne.
  4. hi guys,,just got a new set a 2 inch lift heavy duty springs for me rrc...and i noticed the rear srings are +50 and the fronts are +40..is this correct as i thought the front would be taller due to engine weight?...thanks for any help..cheers....wayne.

  6. hi,,thanks for the replies,i just took a look at the link for the red brake fluid and it does look similar,(thanks for the link m8.... ) ..is the blue fluid your old man uses thicker than normal fluid do you know mate?...if it is i spose the red stuff in it should be ok then... ,,,,thanks for help...wayne.
  7. hi,,its a very deep red,,almost like custard in thickness...its very odd,, i thought it was just auto fluid in it,,but im not sure if it goes thicker under pressure?,,but its like no other brake fluid ive ever seen, and when i put the dot 4 in to top up,the dot 4 just sort of sank straight through it!,may be i should just flush it though an stick good old dot 4 in?..perhaps a piccy of it would help any of you guys to determain wot it is...ill post sum for you too look at,,thanks for the replies,,,
  8. hi guys,,just went to top up me 1990 rrc 3.9 v8,,and to my shock found not nice clean brake fluid but thick red stuff in resevoir!...looks similar to auto tranny oil but thicker,,my brakes are fine just the fluid was a touch low so light was on,,any how i chucked a bit of normal dot 4 in like it says on resevoir and screwed lid back on..any ideas why this stuffs in it???..could it be auto tranny oil thats been pressureised into the thick red stuff..or am i missing summat here like theres special red fluid for the braking system on theese...and will me adding the dot 4 into it cause any probs...any help please very puzzled and you canna be too carefull when it comes to brakes can ya...all the best...wayne....

  13. hi,mines a diy job too, after all the gr8 guys on here sent me links an piccies how to fabricate 1..(cheers guys)..usual bomb proof desighn,,b+q drain pipe, calor ducting heat proof flexi hose, southdown snorkel fitting kit and snorkel top(whitch can be rotated backwards in extreme conditions),and loads a back silicone to seal joins and water proof airbox..this is on a 1990 3.9 rrc and it works fantastic m8..if anything it gives more cold fresh air than the tiny trumpet intake on airbox....all the best.wayne.
