  1. Possibly, but it used to work until I changed the receiver unit in the headlining. I think the later ones are harsher on what you can do... A TD5 in california? How the F*ck did you manage that! IIRC they only ever sold the V8's over there - something to do with the sulphur content in the diesel I'm told...
  2. I find it strange that the alarm went off, and she was able to start it on the key. With mine, unless I blip the remote, it will not start. I bet some water's got in the BCU if I had to guess, that is, I'm assuming due to age you're talking about a TD5 D2, not a 300-TDI Lump?
  3. IIRC back of the gearbox, up in the transmission tunnel. You fill basically until it overflows from here, running it through gears to fill the cooler & pipework which sits higher than the sump.
  4. Not afaik. You can also fit the V8 T/C to the TD5 box as well with a little modification, mine's running with that too
  5. Triple blast (and appologies for the tripple post) I also tried changing the Watts Linkage bushes, a pig of a job with a tank guard in the way, and it made no difference either.
  6. It depends which box you have. The V8 D2 uses the ZF4HP24EH IIRC, which I think is the same as that used on the P38, but the TD5 uses a ZF4HP22EH. I guess swapping the ECU's should be simple enough, you may have to tell the Engine ECU the other box is fitted, I'm not sure, there is Auto control circuitry in the TD5 Auto ECU (indeed, a TD5 Auto ECU can be used in a Manual, but a Manual ECU cannot be used in an Auto). Ashcrofts can make a ZF4HP22EH stronger with most of the bits from the 24, so they can't be too dissimilar. I'd try asking them if I were you. I'm running a stronger 22EH box (stage 1 IIRC with the C1/C2 clutch from the 24, as I chewed that up with my tuned TD5).
  7. Oh, and forgot to add, I have a Hawkeye in the Bristol & surrounding (Swindon, Glos, Cardiff are places I visit reguarly) area should anyone need any codes reading/resetting.
  8. Yep, though they aren't permanent ABS errors, I get the 3-Amigos, stop, restart and have Amber ABS until 2k RPM and then clear again. Usually during stop/start in town.
  9. Thought I'd chime in here, mine's had this ever since I've owned it, and I've done ~60k in that time. Changed the following: Autobox (Chewed the old one) Transfer Box (Got one cheap, to rule it out) Front & Rear Props (Rear to remove the Donut) Rear Diff (Upgrade for Quaife ATB) I keep getting ABS errors, so I'm leaning more towards a hub being the cause.
  10. The dealers all have a little machine that allows them to cut the keys there You'd need to get a new keyfob though, and they'd have to then open the vehicle and plug into the odb port and re-program a fob onto that though.
