On Mine I've used a Warn solenoid (had one lying around) and switched it from inside the cab along with an internal winch control.

Oh please get Nige to do it and film it for us.

Ah yes sorry just realised yours is a RR not a Disco...

Hi,
I cannot get to my Disco to have a look at the moment, so this is from memory Im afraid.
It might be either the pipe for the fuel pressure regulator or if you have a Charcoal canister the vacuum for that.
Don't think there is a vacuum for the transmission...

Have to say, since fitting megajolt to my Disco it has never backfired, its waterproof and it ticks over really smoothly pulls well up to the red line on both fuels (mine is single point lpg).
the dual map system it offers has the advantage of tailoring an ignition map suitable to whichever fuel you are running.
I believe the waisted spark system it uses fires only two plugs at a time not four (it uses two x 4 way coilpacks)
the pairing as far as I can remember is:
1&6
2&3
3&2
4&7
5&8
6&1
7&4
8&5
so if 1 is firing then the waisted spark is on 6 so no danger of firing when an intake valve is open.

I fitted Megajolt to my disco, probably one of the best mods I've done to it. It's not to hard and there are loads of people on here ready to help.
I also went the Rpi ignition amp route first, more for the clever ignition timing thing it does, it worked for me at the time, but now with Megajolt my V8 is waterproof.....

Hi
I've got 2x8" IPF Lights on the bumper with driving lenses in and 4x6"KC daylighters on the roof. The 2 center KC's have driving lenses fitted and the 2 outside KC's have flood lenses fitted and are angled slightly outwards.
I've also converted them all to 55w HID. Very, very bright

Hi andy thanks for that ar you still using the STD stc1285 non abs 300 tdi master cylinder ? Reason I ask is the 110 Calipers run 44mm pistons rather than the 41mm pistons and I was wondering if the STD master was man enough ( although this on mine will also be new shop bought as I'm removing my rrc abs and refitting a complete new 300 tdi braking system but wanting to keep my brand new vented disks on my rebuilt axles so !!! I now have all my part numbers for the complete system thanks guys
Hi,
My Disco Is a 97 V8 with ABS. originally it came with solid front discs with single line callipers.
I am still using the original master cylinder and I've not noticed any great difference in peddle pressure since fitting the 110 callipers. the pads are HUGE compared with the original disco ones. I didn't measure the piston diameter of the old or new callipers so cant speak here with authority but my understanding is that the piston diameter of the 110 callipers is greater than the ordinal disco pistons.
At the same time I also fitted braided brake lines front and rear, however, the front ones now go straight to the calliper with a banjo fitting and I have done away with the small copper brake pipe that links the calliper to the hose. The rear braided lines go from the T piece at the diff straight to the callipers. So there are no hard lines on the rear axle at all. (David at Llama made all my hoses and was very helpful helping me decide the best fittings)
I think it's a very worthwhile mod, especially if you're running larger tyres. I've been very impressed with how the breaks now perform.
Oh and just a small P.S
My Disco had just passed its MOT on the old brakes but after all my brake mods I had the MOT guy have another look at them, he was quite happy with the mods and gave the whole system a thumbs up.

Hi.
Have just modded my disco to vented discs I used Defender 110 callipers. STC1266 + STC1267 ( they may have updated the part number now ) I used Island 4x4 for all the bits (disks, callipers pads etc).
They are single line vented

Hi Les,
Sorry should have asked in a better way, I know they had shut down for a while. I was wondering if anyone knew how much longer they were going to be shut down for?
cheers

I've had ARB lockers for a while now however one of them started playing up so I had Ashcrofts service them and fit 4.11 ring and pinions, not the cheapest route!
A cheaper alternative would be to change the transfer box, but the low range would stay the same.

Hi
im running 285/75 16's on Zu rims.
I have a 2"lift and have extended arches.
For me, the gearing was then to tall (V8 auto) so i know run 4.11 diffs and its spot on.
I used to run 265/75 16 with a 2" lift and Camel cut but chewed up the rear tyres on full articulation.
All Discos are different however ......

On my disco I have the front ARB spaced out by 50mm, You can use tow ball spacers as they have the same bolt hole centres, just need some longer bolts and off you go.

Also don't forget that if you are doing your maths off the trip meter on the speedo (with 33's) your milage will read different to when you have 29" tyres.
I found that , according to my GPS,
29 (std) = speedo read 5-7 mph to fast
32 = speedo read spot on
33 = speedo read to slow by about 3-4 mph

3.9 auto Disco
11 ish on single point LPG and a mildly tuned engine

I've just finished this conversion on my Disco.
So far the results are stunning!
The peddle doesn't have any more travel, so result there. The pads are a lot bigger, and although they are still bedding in they have far more bite than before.
I appreciate that my old brakes might have not been at there best but they had just past an MOT.
I've also replaced all the copper brake pipes on the rear axle with braided hose, the hose runs from the t piece by the diff and travels along the axle and goes into the calliper using a banjo fitting, like on a motor bike. Also I've used braided hose on the fronts and done away with the small copper pipe by going direct to the calliper with another banjo style fitting.
So far so good, going to take it to a friendly Mot place tomorrow and have them put it on there brake tester and check there all working OK and also see if he is happy with what I've done.

Ive found, on mine, the most common thing that needs doing is the re seating of the ABS sensors. (just tap them gently till they wont go in any more) although this can mean that the wheel bearings might need adjusting You can do a 'blink test' which should give you a fault code. this will tell you where to look.
I have found that the ABS on my disco is a good thing! (when working)

Hi All,
Just a quickie,
My oil light has started to come on, only on tick over, started flickering and now seems to be on more than flickering. only on 800rpm tickover soon as you raise the revs it goes straight out. (yes! ive checked that there is oil in the engine )
engine sounds fine, no rattles or tapping.
possible things to look for ?
Will check or swap out the oil pressure switch (its cheap and easy to get to.)
will do an oil and filter change.
What are the symptoms of a failing oil pump? or do they just go?
engine is a 97 V8 Serpentine (ie no oil pump drive from the dissy )
cheers in advance
