[i had the same thing some years ago on my rear axle. It was the drive flages and the both the half shafts that were worn. It could also be play in the diff the diff esp if a rover one.

If you look on the front of the transfer box. There is a small cap that fits over the end of the box that protects the ends of selector the shafts, they sometimes fill up with carp and rust. take it off and have a look. It looks as though its not coming out of 4wd prpoerly. Is the spring present under the yellow knob? pat

Has anyone made their own spare wheel carrier??

HAs anyone fitted a defender bulkhead to seris three??? I am about to do this to mine and was wondering what the problems i may come across might be? I have heard that the steering column is too close to the brake master cylnder housing any comments?? Any advice would be helpful. Pat

How have you connected a series transfer box to an LT77?? Pat

it will fix on the box no problem. You may need to remove 1 stud from the bellhousing i thinkit depends upon if its from a disco or defender. Its the pipe work that needs to be thought about. The defender engine would be easier to fit. The fitment of an lt 77 box is another matter. You will need a different front axle with CV jonts. I have been considering this myself. It looks alot of work. A stage one front axle would work but they are expensive and hard to find. I am not sure how available spare parts aer for the stage 1 axle. Has anyoner fitted an LT77 or an r380 to a series three???

[i have been looking into this for some time. How have people measured accurately the angles for the front axle, so the vehicles steers [properly and it doesn't scrub tyres. I expect the rear one is less critical. Which axles are the easiest to fit. I would perfer to use the salibury rear on mine though. Pat
