  1. Hi, hopefully I can get a definitive answer to this on here?

    I've read various opinions, how to guides and forum posts and it looks as though I have the following options and not one definitive method;

    -install dry (think this is what the WSM suggests - as slave studs are required when fitting P gasket to keep it in place)

    -install with thin coating of gasket sealer

    -install with some other coating (grease?)

    I've got it all stripped down ready to rebuild but obviously want to get it right first time and not be doing it again anytime soon!

    Any advice/opinions/personal experience gratefully received.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

  2. thanks for the comments - I do like it too. Big difference to the nearly 40 year old series that I've had up until now!

    Nothing too major planned;

    fit either two inward facing flip up seats in the back or refit front centre seat and get a forward facing one for the rear

    Fix or remove the Overdrive

    Investigate a bit of a leak on one of the oil cooler pipes

    Source some new rubber in place of the road going 205's that are on it.

    Cheers,
    Martin.

  3. been a Series landy owner for the last 5 years or so, up until yesterday that is!

    Think this new motor may pose a few questions, not least the non-functioning GKN Overdrive which is fitted (hopefully just someting electrical). Already picked up loads of advice and hopefully more will be available if and when problems arise!

    Cheers,
    Martin.

  4. As per the title really.... specifically non-servo single line brake system.

    As part of a brake upgrade saga (109 TLS fronts on an 88 that won't give a firm pedal first push no matter how much I bleed them) I'm wondering if anyone has done this mod or know if it can be done.

    Looking at the parts diagrams I see the early 88 pedal assembly is different part number from all 109's and post 1980 88's so I'm thinking maybe.......

    master cylinders are different (larger bore/or longer stroke on the 109) but that's the whole idea. Also listed on parts diagram is a spacer block (564944) that the post 1980 88's and all 109's have.

    So, can I just stick a 109MC on an early 88 pedal box, will it physically fit, will the pushrod length be all wrong without the spacer or is there enough adjustment on the rod.... I could probably fab a spacer if required, but if that is the case what is the thickness?

    Cheers,

    Martin.
