  1. Ive just measured, + found that the heater outlet/inlet on back of manifold are only 15 mm meaning its more of a restriction Do you think it would still be ok providing i put in electric helper water pumps? Some vauxhalls + vw's have 15mm hose electric water pumps for the heater systems + was thinking of 1 or maybe 2 of these as they can be got pretty cheap Pipes would go From manifold - electric pump - upto 22mm pipe - upto 45mm on + off the rad - electric pump - back to 15mm pipe - back to manifold What do people think?
  2. Hi all Fitting a rear rad in my trialler over the weekend + just wondering the best way to plumb it in I will be keeping the one in the front + will have the rear rad as a 2nd Its ok with 1 for trials but pay + play days it gets too hot Was thinking for ease to use the heater outlet + inlet from the back of inlet manifold with reducers from the rad to the 22mm copper hose going from manifold to rad but wondered if that will be a bit small Or to run the rear rad in line with the front rad Cheers James
  3. The engine is in an 80" trialler + was pretty good runner when prev owner had it ive just never liked them much + was planning some su's anyway Well i went + won a set of 4 su's on manifold the other night so no more stromberg worries

  5. Hiya I have a class 9 ARC trialler 80" on coils It ARC log booked for CCV's + Comp Safari's but ive heard that its quite easy to get into trouble with bouncing forwards + back due to it being so short Id just like to hear from people in the know as I want to do some comps but dont realy want to buy yet another off road toy Cheers all James
  6. Hi all I will be ordering some +5" Terrafirma shocks for my rangie soon + was wondering what length springs to put with them Currently ive got +2" with 2" spacers fitted + wasnt sure if this would get the best out of the shock I will need to keep the lift at 4" due to tyres Cheers all James
  7. Hi all Got a set of strombergs on my 3.9 trialler but ive never been too impressed with them + to be honest dont think they are setup too well What needs changing from the standard setup / settings for them to run well on a 3.9 with pipercross filters? Cheers James

  9. Hi all, just changing rear diff + i went + got a spare i had in the garage + noticed it has no oil filler but the busted diff id taken out has Thought it was a bit strange so i checked the other spare i have + that has no filler either Both the spares i have, have been removedfrom rear axles, How on earth do i get the oil into the diff? 11. Well ive got it out eventually I tried using bolts through the holes on the shaft with nuts behind the head of the shaft to act as a puller + would not budge, kept stripping the threads Couldnt get a bar all the way through the diff I ended up wrapping a strap round the head of the shaft + towing it out, didnt like it though + rangie moved about a foot sideways while doing it The last 1/4 inch of the splines had twisted + the diff centre was empty, all the bits in the bottow of the casing, lots of bits At least i can now get on + finish it Cheers for looking
  12. Hi all Blew a rear diff last time i was out Yesterday i thought id get on + change it Pulled out drivers side no problem but when i tried pulling out passenger shaft, no chance If its all the way in its engaged as it should pull out about an inch + it spins freely + not engaged with diff pull out another 1/4-1/2 inch its the engaged with the diff again + cannot pull out any further Any ideas why this would be or how to get it out? We had 2 lever bars on it last night, 1 either side, + would not budge A mate said if al else fails wrap a strap round the flange of the shaft + tow it out lol All help + suggestions greatly appreciated James
  13. Hi all Ive already got a bobtail pickup rangie 2 door which im building to end up doing the odd challenge event with I picked up 2 rangie last weekend, 1 is my brothers + i was going to break the other (1990 3.9) but now having 2nd thoughts Ive always fancied doing some comp safari's + already have a coil sprung 80" for ccv's + comps but its a bit to short to comp realy So im turning my head to this rangie + just wondering what people would prefer between a bobtail or bobtail pickup + for which event Id like the extra space than the pickup for challengs but at the same time i like having the short roof length as theres less to damage + less to get past leaning trees etc Cheers for opinions James
  14. Hi all Picked up an 84 3.5 rangie + a 1990 3.9 for a pretty good price Going to build 1 good one out of the 2, Im going to use the early one as all the rot has already been cut out + undersealed etc The early one has the 1 piece rear seat with the lever in the middle to fold the rear seat down Just wondering if the rear seat from the later rangie fit? Sorry if its a bit daft Am i right in thinking the fronts are a straight swap? Cheers James
  15. Will a series 3 diff take the same level of abuse as a rangie diff though? Im looking to run arb's front + back next year, will the locker fit the series 3 diff + rangie diff or are they different? i dont realy want to buy arb's then have to sell for another set James
  16. Hi all, got a bit of a problem Got a 4 speed manual rangie which im putting some 37" tyres on but ive heard that 1st gear in low isnt low enough due to the tyre size Is there any way of lowering the low box ratio without fitting a crawler box? I know if it was a LT77 + LT230 it can be done The other option is diffs, ive got a pair of series 3 axles with diffs, would i just be able to use the series 3 diffs to lower the ratio? Cheers James
