Feeling a bit of a dope, but can anyone explain what the remedy is? (sorry i'm new to this!!)

Nah the diff lock isn't on or at least I haven't asked it to be on!!!, I think there is something in the front Diff that is binding, I've not had a spare minute to look at it yet. Ths happens when the wheels are in any position, if I drive forwards first there doesn't seem to be a problem, only if I go straight back. I'm confused!!!!

Hi Chaps, Not had a proper look at this yet, mix of time and fear!! When reversing it can often get 'stuck' or just judder as you are moving. I'm worried it's the diff but i'm a bit of a newbie so not sure. Any thoughts? Robin

That's a nice shiney finished product!! I have a complete 200tdi at the moment which is what I want to recondition, i'm doing it more for the learning as I have refurbed my 90 but as the engine was running well I didn't touch it, apart from a good service.

Had a look at some of these already, there's also a Haynes one as well. Didn't know if there was something a bit more specific for 200tdi?

Hi Les, I have a 2.5td in the landy just now but have a 'well used' 200tdi for the swap. I'm not in any hurry to do the swap and fancied taking my time and reconditioning it first to save any problems later. Thanks, Robin

I agree with these coments, don't rush in too deep with the first one. Defenders that haven't been looked after can be a rusty minefield!!! On another note my tractor is more refined than my defender hahahaha Good luck!!

A very nice finished product!! I have a 90 at the moment being revamped, but in the back of my mind I knowm i'm going to need a 110 if it comes up like that i'd be chuffed!

Do 8x16 fit without any spacers etc?

I have some quite deep bucket seats fitted to my 90, they are SO much more comfy than the standard seats!! On a related note does anyone know where I can get jump start connectors so I don't have to take the seat out to access the battery?

Hi All, Reading through some previous posts there's a lot of useful info on painting landys with rollers. I was planning on spraying but this looks a far easier and quicker option. Does anyone know where I could find a supplier of gloss enamel paint in sufficient quantity to paint a 90? Many thanks, Robin

Hi All, I have a 1990 2.5TD 90. It has a very strange problem at the moment, it'll be running fine at normal operating temperature but when anything electrical is turned on the temp increases (lights, heater etc.) Does anyone have any thoughts as to what the problem is? Thanks

Hi everyone, I have some nice comfy bucket seats for my 90, the drivers seat is fitted at the moment, and makes journeys a lot more comfortable. However with the need to get in at the battery, fitting the passanger seat is a bit of a problem as you have to take it in and out. Does anyone know of a 'bolt on' seat rail allowing for easy removal of the seat? Or do I need to get creative and weld one? Any help would be much appreciated Robin
