  1. Hi all I hope you can help, my Disco 300tdi failed its MOT with 10% handbrake efficiency but I'm convinced it wasn't done right, the handbrake is really good on it unlike my 200tdi which is awful and passed ok (same place different tester)

the tester said something about because it has neutral on transfer box its not full time 4wd ??

just need some facts before I go back as I really feel that it wasn't tested correctly

  2. Hi mate....my suggestion after taking the entire under side of my Ford Capri to bare metal would be these

    My link

if you are just doing a small or large area that is devoid of mountings or fixings sticking out...ie the hull of a boat then these are superb, will remove rust down to shiny bare metal very quickly, you can get them for angle grinders or for a drill both of which you can buy cordless.....and no wire bristles to get stuck in your skin......oh and you will not damage the underlying metal at all

the discs went through rust/paint/primer very quickly highly recommend them ;)

  3. Right time to get some details up and get some definites down for the trip.

We are looking at the weekend of 16/17th October, gives everyone plenty of time to organise time off money whatever.

The cost of the ferry will be approx £170 for Portsmouth to Le Havre or £225 Portsmouth to Caen, difference being longer drive to the site from Le Havre

There will be a special price of £60 a car for the Laning tour and use of the offroad site for the weekend

So loads of time to get organised, any questions please ask, we really want to start getting some definite names down so we know if we can go ahead with this.

    thanks

  4. ...thanks for the info.....not judging mate just trying to find the correct way to fit...I got new ****part one's (they were cheap  ) and no instructions, the bottom washer looks the same as the one in the pic so I fitted it the same as the pic as I found the fitting guide...then my mate suggested it might be wrong so got paranoid lol....so if the bottom washer is deep dish like that then I have fitted it right like the pic ?

  5. Hi....on fitting a new rear shocks to a 300tdi...should the lowest washer dish away from the rubber bush or dish around the bush ? I have seen a pic of it dished out but can't find anymore to confirm...

my old ones are pretty hanging so hard to compare to the new one's

  6. Hi all, after helping marshall 2 days of events in France for the Help For Heroes 4x4 european rally , 1 day lanes and 1 day off road course..

I wanted to organise a proper trip out there, a friends father owns a 30 acre off road course and has 1000km of lanes on his books !

This is just a heads up post to get some idea how many people might be interested , it would be a long weekend in Early/Mid September

The site itself offers superb views and offroading for most levels up to a full stream rock crawl challenge through the site. Marshalls would be on hand to help anyone out.

There are lanes for everyone from M25 lanes to winch through challenges so different groups could be catered for during the day.

I will post some pics to give an idea of the site but check out my album here http://s48.photobucket.com/albums/f206/caprifan2/HFH%20-%20Normandy/ for more pics......note the lanes in the pics are the M25 lanes

To give an idea of the site......bare in mind it was dry when I was there..it gets much worse with some rain
