  1. ive had a couple of good ones, one was a roll down a hill where i hit a rock on the way down

end result was a trashed rollcage

    bent outrigger

    bent bulkhead

    and twisted cab

and most recently i did a backflip and landed upside down underwater which completely filled the cab.

cage did its job but water pressure shattered the screen and completely destroyed the roof and bonnet.

pictures of that little misshap actually found its way into land rover wold mag jan 2013 issue

  2. you shouldnt need to put half a tank of diesel in to purge the system unless the fuel pump cant get a good suction supply on the lp side, which is usually because the main strainer on the fuel pump body it blocked

take the pipe off from the inlet manifold to intercooler and spray the easy start into there.

make sure you have also got another running car with jump leads attatched to it aswel as you need the fastest possible cranking speed.

another tip is to remove the glow plug relay and work the glow plugs via a jump wire, give them a good 30s of heat just like on the old n/a engines

if he doesnt get a massive arc when bridged then he is a glow plug or two down and this makes a big difference to trying to start the bugger when the bores are now washed with diesel from trying to start it.

  3. im running 80 series land cruiser

im first to admit i have broken them

1cv through my own lazyness of not taking it out to de-burr as i knew they was tight

1front diff through being a complete and utter idiot trying to reverse up something that it didnt want to go up without the winch

  4. come on guys

its only a couple of weeks away now,

there is bags of time to get them fixed, i built mine from ground up in a week !

lets end this year on a high with pleanty of cars just like it started !

ill be back out to play, and hopefully this time i will stay on all 4 wheels although i cant promise much !

you might not want to miss out on this event as i hear through a " reliable " source that boothy is revealing his new prototype, although its not yet confirmed what this said prototype is for ????

    see you there

    dan

  5. thank you for putting on yet another fantastic event with some great punches .

i did at one stage think i wasnt going to make it but at 2 am the car drove straight out of the workshop and up onto the trailer with no testing what so ever !

im over the moon that it lasted all day with no problems..... just the one behind the wheel who managed to end his own day at half 2 by backfliping on the special stage and landing upside down under water.

so all in all a great day i started the day by rolling on the very first punch, then ended the day with a backflip.

a special thankyou goes to sue, gemma and paul who looked after me while the car was recovered by team gunit who i'd also like to thank.

    see you at rd 3

king of the valleys is running

all the uk's top crews will be there, aswel as teams from the usa, malta

    belgium poland and more.

you would be silly not to come and watch !

ill be there co driving as usual for john sales who produces the famous kick ass saley winch !

  7. my best advice is actually go to a few challenges and look at the cars, speak to crews and get some idea of why whe have done what we have done.

were all friendly and welcome new people to the sport.

dont take what your read on the internet as gospel as theres alot of people that can read stuff and think they know it but have never competed before, or have only done one season and are still learning.

where abouts are you based ?
