  1. grr ok mike wins

its to do with launching and recovering the boat....were now trying to source a new section of the front screen :o:o

now, pretty much most of the time only the front wheels are on the slip...plan is, lock the front up with no center diff and rely on front wheels traction for the 1st 90 inches

    then after that its ok

its for no benifit for offroad as the front hardly gets used and when it does both are locked

its pretty much a trial or error if it works it saves glass if it dont then time to get rid of the simex for on the beach

    there mike..happy now

  2. Thanks John,

I had a great day, the other competitors all seem sound and a good bunch, and it seemed well organised.

Bit of damage to the rear tub and the usual mirrors but I did say before "keep me outa the trees"

Reart tub/crossmember needs some improving anyway.

Found it mega hard finding punches because its the first one and it took a bit of getting into the swing of things, but the lad came good in the end.

Had to change a steering rod as well with no hammer (forgot it) but thats life.

Anyway thanks to everbody and look forward to the next on :):)

why didnt you blinning say u pillock, ive got a fine selection of hammers in lanny, std equiptment isnt it

  6. i have been running pits for 2 years and they are very hardwearing, greenlaned them,12 AWDC challenges, the interclub, the AFC2006,tuff trophy, trialing every month, and playing, and they still look like new.

i have found them to be as good as any other tyre on most things and a lot lot better on others ie rocks shale.

as for ruts and deep mud at slindon last year the special stage was a mud run trial and we were the last to go and the 3 cars we say before us had only got half way through the first gate and then had to winch, people stood watching were overheard saying these won't get far with those tyres on,we drove the first gate around the corner towards the second and only had to slow down so i didn't runover the bitch :D then had to winch.

as for the little tread IMO this help stop breakages 1 un pegged r&p , & 1standard halfshaft since using them must say it all, but what do i know.

peh...aint bust nuffing with my simex  ....going regret that now

has boothy actualy got that heap running yet btw ? told him stick a 4 pot in

  7. they're bl**dy awesomeon rocks IMO and beat simex, but simex are better in the deep mud afink

on wet woodland like said above, they brilliant due to there shear size, more like pontoons

but they just dont look right really, there as wide as they are tall, and also the blocks are huge, but the tread is little

i still prefere my simex and will stick with um

  8. When you run up an outboard on land there is a clever thing called an earmuff. It looks a bit like rubber earmuffs hence the name. Anyway, it goes on the end of a garden hose and fits over the cooling impeller grilles. So when you run the engine it still sucks up some water and circulates it about. You could do the same thing really easily with a garden hose in the top of the engine and a rag in the end of the lower hose to slow throughput. It wouldnt be massively efficient but would make a difference, especially with that ally/cast iron mix in that block...

yer i suppose but a v8 dont have a rubber impellor pump running in either a plastic or s/s pump body to rip itself to shreads unlike a o/b or sterndrive

  9. yes,

me and matt are happy with 5th position, condisering we were competing against some other competitors with alot more experiance, so were chuffed :D

yes, i bet u enjoyed watching me rolling around in the mud.....that u got me into

must admit tho, the approach that lee and stephen took to that punch that took me ages to get to, i did look at and thought no way would a 90 fit, shows how wrong you can be about how big your motor is

cant wait till round 2 should be good, jim is going in his disco, and looks like youll be going.....well...if the v8 feels like going should i say  so should be a good laugh

o you got any wing skins lying around ?

mine took a battering and need abit of tlc
