Just a quick question I hope.
Tonight I was having a look at my rear diff to find the source of an oil leak. The leak appears to be coming from the front of the diff so I suspected the input oil seal so I took the prop and drive flange off and noticed the input shaft has a lot of play so I assumed the bearing has collapsed, but when I put the flange back on and tightened it up the play had gone. So my question is does the input shaft have a tapered bearing or has it collapsed?
Vehicle is a 1989 90
