hi everyone just had my td4 auto 54 reg 70,000mls local landrover garage they flaged 2 slight leaks . one on auto box seal they say nothing to worry about but the box will have to come out is this common on 54 reg freelander and do they need done straight away .second transfer box will it all so need done there is no fluids on my drive thanks for help

hi every 0ne just a question i have a 2005 td4 auto with 69,000mls .sometimes while sitting in traffic sort of stop starting when i go to pull away i feel like a small kickdown and it seems to pull away quite fast. not what i would call smooth but not neck bracking its hard to explain. is it because it is pulling away in 2nd gear and is it normal. the oil in the box was changed at 60,000mls by landrover i have a plug and play box fitted and the erg bypass dont no if this makes a difference. hope someone can help cheers tom

thanks for info but can only use one hand so its off to local landy specials he says the hole job £600 i think this is a lot of money but i dont no whats in volved . all he said was he has to replace the hole unit

hi flash i love the freelander but its one problem after another . have not had it a year and the list is massive dont no if iam just unlucky but every month it is some thing else is this common it has only done 67000 miles

hi every one just another problem with my 05 td4 auto.it went to landrover last week for a service and came back with a diesel leak . i took it back thinking it was a fuel filter not on correct landrover said it was not and it was not any thing they had done. they said it was high pressure diesel pump on the side of the engine .caused by my plug in and play box and erg bypass unit.the box was not cheap about £250 with a good review and i never have it on the highest setting can this be true as i do not want to be causing this to happen again please any info would be help full

hi just been on a 400 mile round yorkshire .it has been motorway moors town stop start fully loaded with family and gear . i reckon it used 50 liters which is £ 70 i feel like i have been mugged. what a country to live in at the moment the goverment would steal the aftershave off your face if it got the chance .i have a td4 auto o5 which was not great on mpg i have erg bypass and plug in play box fitted now so 40mpg is far better now. it pulls great and the gear change is far quicker. the bypass and plug in box have made it far nicer

hi just had freeland to local garage with a leak .i was told auto gearbox but what was strange he says oil was clear and not redish as it should be .the bloke seems to now his stuff is this possible the wrong oil was in there. it has main dealer history ?

sorry dont want to put you off but here goes . when i purchased it me a nd a friend went to look at it from strastone a big company we asked to put it on the ramps the sales man just laughed .we had a good look around it looked spottless it was the cheepest car in the garage at 9k there where cars there for upto 180k astons looked a good garage. it said one owner 57miles fsh ipurchased it and decided to go for the 2 year service and mot pack with 6 months warranty .the paper work came through it was 3months warranty and i was the 3rd onwer the docs where not there on the day not a good start but my fault trust no one.now the list leaking transfer box leaking piff,power mirrors ,fuel burning heater, leaking rad needed bulbs changed all sorts, i was lucky i had taken it to another stratstone garage for a free winter check with only weeks left on the warranty.the list was massive they said it would not have left there garage in this state it went back to get sorted but since then i have warranty for peace of mind just be carefull i think i was unlucky its running fine now

hi sounds like a nice freelander . i got my freelander last august 54 sport auto td4 .just a couple of things to advise they are not great on power or speed so would advise a remap but not sure how would affect your warranty . also the auto box is not great when cold it likes to stay in low gears till the oil in the box warms up after a few miles so heavy on fuel but if you change gear manualy its fine . i got mine from stratstone LR it has been back about 4 times make sure warranty covers everything and purchase a 2year one for peace of mind if possible if not warranty direct do a good one for about £ 560 a year covers everything even mot failure. make sure you change crankshaft breather filter every year or there is a replacement part. all in all they are not cheap to run but i live in northumberland and this winter has been rough .but not for the freelander its great and goes anywhere what a machine i love it just make warranty is right hope this will help

hi folks what a few days for driving my freelander.i live in alnwick in northumberland the snow has been really heavy .this is my first winter with the landrover i cant believe how good this thing drives it is a 2005 td4 sports auto with 18inch standard tyres. lots of folk told me its auto and the tyres are to big.it has pulled cars out of drifts climbed hills . what a machine it seems to have came alive some folk no nothing. long live the freelander .when the tc flashes on is that the 4 wheel drive or some thing else ?

cheers every one just had freelander in at stratstone newcastle for a check on flue burning heater they give it a winter check and came back with a list as long as your arm thinking it was not under warranty the lass on the desk advised to take back to the stratstone garage we got it from saying they would not have let it leave the garage in that state and some stuff would not be coverd we have had only 2 months the list reads .front and rear wipers back diff leaking auto box leaking some where radaitor leaking brake pads shot brake fiuld contaminated fuel burning heater censor needed engine oil low side bulbs need changed and more over £8000 it cost with fsh should they fix every thing free as another garage has printed it in black and white and they are both stratstone please help thanks

hi every one finally got a freelander sport td4 auto i got the freelander from stratstone landrover newcastle i purchased the 2year service pack but after paying for it iam not sure do they just do a standerd service or will they do service according to miles it will be a 70,000 next service and should i change crankshaft breather now the freelander is a 05 many thanks if any one can advise

hi i have freelander 54 reg td4 auto my wife drives it daily we have had it over a month it has been fine but in the last 2 weeks my wife reports that she has see smoke coming from wheel arch passenger side next time it was the grill passenger side low down and there is a electric buzz coming from behind passenger headlight and last about 30 seconds i think it has a fuel burning heater could it be that or could it be the brake sticking on cheers men
