  1. Recently brought a 2007 tdci xs sw and its developed a bit of an issue , yesterday the battery and eml where flickering alternately on and the temp gauge to the max , today the battery light has come on and wont go off and temp is at the max and tho the eml is not on it is showing 3 faults and is a bit lethargic to drive ive checked all the fuse the battery is good and holding charge the alernator is kicking out 14.4 volt Connections on the battery are fine had anyone had this issue or know of anything like it ? any help would be greatly appreciated
  2. I’m not entirely sure I know the ECU matches the chassis number I can take a look tomorrow I imagine it’s the original engine and it’s an 04 90 pick up
  3. Not as far as I’m aware I bought the truck a few years back and never drove it just straightaway started stripping it I believe it’s all original as it’s only had two owners but I’m not hundred percent

Hi guy , wondering if any one could help me out? i have a td5 d90 i have just rebuilt and for some reason im having a couple issues it starts and drives fine , but even from a cold start the temp gauge is in the red soon as u turn the key , ive also noticed the fuel gauge is very slow i had a look last night and didnt get very far is the ment to be 12v at the sensor? also noticed that there is 2 grey plugs next to the master cylinder coming from the chassis but there’s only one coming out of the bulkhead?? I had another defender slightly newer and that has two grey connectors coming out of the bulkhead and two coming up on the chassis not the ones in the transmission tunnel I’m talking about the ones that flip right onto the master cylinder side. Any help Would be greatly appreciate

I had a South Africa guy send me a cheque for my old one , it was a really low quality cheque a step up from colouring pencils , took to HSBC ( friend works there) just because I wanted to see what they would say and ran the numbers and said don't even try to cash it left 10mins later got called back as the numbers came up in there fraud departments and they contacted the bank , so they guy called a couple days later , told him what happen in a not very polite way and within a week had another rubber cheque sent !!!! These people are relentless , but then they only have to fool one for a payday and there plenty of idiots about
  6. Just brought a set of puma rear safari door hinges and what to repaint them , does anyone no if or how the come apart they don't have the screws in to top like the older style hinges

  8. I have a late td5 /tdci passenger door with e/w , I'm struggling to find a drives with e/w so my question is :- is it just the winder / motor that different or the whole inner door panel.? Can I just buy a door with a winder and just fit a motor in its place? Or would it need a different regulator
  9. Well just checked the v5 and doesn't say anything about amount of seats or doors just says light 4x4 utility, do I guess as long as I tell my insurance it's a 6 seater 5 door everything will be good? Roof will need replacing as the old one is totally dead

Hi all Just after a bit of info regarding body changes, I have a 2003 td5 hd ex utility and im rebuilding it with a 5 door body , and can't find a clear answer to telling dvla/ process for changing details and registering as a sw/utility wagon It had a recon engine before I got it but as far as I'm aware everything else is original . It's stripped bk to a chassis at the moment and I'm trying to keep it as original as possible apart from tub,side panels doors, roof, wings, and interior upgrade to tdci rear seats using the correct cross member Could anyone point me in the right direction ?   11. Not sure if they would keep you hands warm of if its just the rich people can't manage to keep there tdci's on the road there's about 30 on eBay breaking

Wow you are the go to guy and switch info thank you very much , I've been a little confused regards heat seat switches as come seam long and others seam tall if that makes sense I'm after the taller style but the £50 on line. This also explains why the disco hrw switch will not run my defender , so the defender switch you have to physically turn on and off? Where as the disco one is momentary ? I'm looking at buying a disco switch panel which has 4 e/w switches and 2 heated seat ones . So these will work in a def

  14. Thanx I've used thes before, I know the set up I want just need to know how to remove the standard alarm system , getting conflicting stories some say it can be removed some say it can't and some say can be but only up to 02
