  1. I have recently replaced the engine in my 300tdi after a disaster on holiday. I got the engine at a good price so can`t complain, but after starting the oil light stays on for up to 18 seconds. If i start it after a short time it goes off immediatly but after a couple of hours low oil pressure again. I have changed the sender unit so its not that. Is the oil draining out somehow? or could it be something else? Simes

  3. Thanks for that, I`m sure that will be helpful, but the tool i`m after holds the pulley in place inside the timing cover while the pump is removed. I guess it sort of pulls it off the shaft & clamps it to the cover. Or maybe I was told porkies. Simon
  4. Hi, all you fountains of knowledge. I need to change the injection pump on my 300tdi. I understand that it can be done without stripping the timing case if you have the LR special tool. Does anyone have a picture of the tool or a drawing so I can try & make it. Simes
  5. Fixed!! Well, they stopped running anyway. Went to the car on Tuesday morning & hey presto, no wipers, & yes they still do work as they should as well. Looking into the wiring diagrams, it looks like they are connected to the Multi Function Unit. Maybe it just needed powering down for a while? Thanks Simon.

  7. My wipers have been on most of the weekend, now it`s stopped raining I can`t stop them. When the switch is in the OFF position the wipers run on intermitant! Is the switch duff or something else? Thanks for any info, Simes
  8. Hi all, This started in another topic `Do injectors rattle?`. (don`t know how to link it, sorry) I checked the vacuum pump & changed the lift pump (cus I had one), Checked & adjusted the tappets & it still rattles. I think it could be a cam follower now. Is there anything to rattle in a follower? Does it need urgent attention? We go on holiday the end of next week pulling a caravan & 3 canoes on the roof down to Devon from Wolverhampton, should I rip it apart or leave it? HELP, simes

  10. hi, I have an intermitant rattle on my Disco 300, Somebody has told me that it sounds like an injector rattling. Do they rattle. What causes it? How do I fix it. Do I just ignore it? Simes
  11. Hi chaps, I changed my EDC pump for the mechanical one while it was being repaired. The same cable still fits, I think its the kick down cable on my auto. The problems i had was that the air-con & cruise control didn`t work. May not be a problem to you though. Simes
  12. Hi, I`ve been nosing around here with a similar problem. I read about advancing the timing & thought I`d have a go this afternoon. What a difference!!! I thought that it was all electronically controlled, But I guess the electronics don`t take over till it`s running. Simes
  13. It looks like the brachet doesn`t bolt to the injector pump, but to the 2 bolts that hold the air con. pump. Help someone, please. Simes

  15. Thanks for that, but the part I need is not shown. LR showed me this pic. in the parts dept. All the brackets shown fit the mechanical pump not the EDC pump. thanks again for your time.
  16. Hi there, Does any one have the bracket that bolts to the EDC Injection pump on a 300 Discovery that the kickdown cable & peddle cable connect to? Mine has been misplaced during a pump change. Landrover can`t find the part on their parts system, the only ones they have fit the non electronic pump. It is a braket with a post & swiveling arm. I would like to buy one or get some pictures so I can make something like it. Simes

    Hi there, I have a 1997 300Tdi auto with EDC. It ahas been in Japan for a few years before I bought it in 2005. Don`t know how long it will be a EDC as i am having real trouble with a misfire that can`t be tracked down. A sensor is suspected, but which one. May convert it to a normal pump.
  18. Hello out there. I have a300 TDi auto with EDC (drive by wire), car has developed a misfire between 2500 & 3000 rpm. Car starts fine, no exsesive smoke. revs OK upto about 2500 rpm then misfires. If i can get it over 3000rpm its fine upto the govenor kicks in. Any body got any ideas its really bugging me. Simes
