  1. This info is required for a project at college we have tested each lead but we need to check our findings out against the specifications set by manufacter.
  2. I have a freelander 1.8 k series engine and i need to find out what the HT lead resistance is for each cylinder if anyone can tell me where i can get this info0 or supply with it, it would be much appreciated as landrover havent been very helpful Many thanks Judd
  3. the switch has no effect on side lights it only turns head lights on and off, i am thinking about re wiring the lights and wiring up my front spots on to a switch as they are not connected, also can anyone tell me what each of the 5 fuses are for under the steering wheel as i don't seem to have any kind of markings,
  4. pullin my hair out

  5. dunno why you have to check injection timing is perfect before doing this as the injection pump doesn't need to be removed the only thing that needs to be done is injectors and injector pipes need removing from it. the crank shaft doesn't need to be removed and the vlaves are done by push rod so timing isn't an issue the hardest thing i found doing this job was removing the injectors as i mine had proberbly never been removed before and were stuck fast
  6. Any one in lincolnshire area fancy giving me a hand with my landy 88inch series 3 2.25d the wiring is a complete joke (having said that everything about this landy has been a joke or butchered one way or another) the wiring problems is as follows 1 Side lights are on as soon as ignition is switched on 2 Heater plugs do not work they did before engine rebuild and are newish plugs ( am thinking of converting to Glow plugs) 3 Indicators O/s Flashes quickly (as if bulb blown) 4 indicator N/s sometimes flashes but mainly stays on constant 5 Starter motor most of time is fine but every so often it seems to lack power Any help will be much appriceiated as i would like to get this ol bus back in her prime and on the road,
  7. Just to make things clearer for people who don't know the difference, Heater plugs Are wired in series and the last heater plug in line is earthed (on mine it is earthed to the cylinder head) If one fails it will stop the rest from working Glow plugs are wired in parallel and don't have to be earthed as they earth them selves through the thread they screw in with. If one fails the other should still work.
  8. I have been having problems with the heater plugs on my landy they have been working fine, At first I thought when I was repairing my oil burning issue I thought I might of damaged one of the cables, I have now replaced all of the cables, and now only have power to 2 plugs but with them been wired in series none of them work, the plugs look new but that doesn't mean anything I was. Wondering if anyone had done a glow plug conversion as I have seen a kit on eBay for £35 Or should I put new heater plugs Any help would be appreciated as this has got me stumped
  9. ,I have just re ringed my 2.25d and have changed the shells and gaskets all parts including delivery cost. £65 from paddocks spares It can be done with engine situ and it took me about 9hrs start to finish, best bi of advice is while the pistons are out use a honing tool and remove the glaze out of each piston chamber/barrel, use plenty of oil when fitting the shells Take your time and don't rush
  10. Well I hav now fitted new piston rings shells cylinder head and replaced quite a few gaskets, all that is left to do is sort out heater plug wiring and starter motor before going out on a road test to see if I lose my oil pressure or not But that can be done tomorrow when it not dark or raining
  11. Thank you will check speedo and tyre sizes and then will take it from there
  12. Well rings, shells and gaskets have turned up now just to fit them, hopefully will have engine sorted by weekend Wiring loom will have to wait till new year, give me chance to save some pennies up
  13. I agree with the side lights but am not sure if mine are on because there supposed to be or because there is an electrical fault
  14. As far as I'm aware it is not an imported landy and I'm running on standard wheels When lookin at the speedo to see how fast I'm going I look at the kph for mph I.e reading 40kmph is approx 45mph The way I found out was my mate was following me I asked how fast I was going and he said about 45mph and my clock was reading about 40kmph. ( needle was bouncing round there)
  15. Going to have to do this to if I go over a speed bump at 10 mph it like hitting a curb at 70mph not good on the old back and head lol But before I do a spring refurb I would like to give my truck a bit more height is there a lift kit available for these types of suspension or what can I do to give me better ground clearance
