  1. Cant say I blame you, that is an epic, that must have got you some browny points in the bank though.
  2. Thats impressive, seems 60 is a good speed for a defender , i am happy with that and Scotland seems to be a goer for us now. After these posts it doesnt seem that far now.
  3. Wow, that counts, impressive..and edgy , not accounting for the landy lol
  4. Thinking about this as if i have long journeys of more than two hours to take I tend to use our family car, I would like to take it to Scotland this year but at 60mph tops then maybe a long journey, but love seeing pictures of LANDROVERS abroad and in remote places.
  5. Thanks for all your help, wired them in today with home made loom protected by split conduit, used the original loom to switch two relays fixed to the nearside inner wing, fused live from the alternator powering the new led headlights, tested belting.
  6. Great stuff, going to make my own loom, using the existing loom to trigger relays with the lights drawing their power source from a fused supply from the alternator.
  7. Belting, saves me running a cable from the battery to the front of the engine bay.
  8. Is there any downsides from taking the power source from the alternator. This will feed the new headlights.
  9. What do you think of this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111398525939
  10. Thanks for the replies, got a new quote of around 100 to fit so just need to keep looking for a decent transfer box, little bit worried that a few have mentioned the difference when needing to tow or even in normal driving, but I am certainly leaning towards a conversion, ta
  11. Thank you, dont want to waste my money and an overdrive is very expensive, I am leaning towards the 1.2 would there be a difference between a 200tdi and 300tdi engine working a 1.2 transfer box, also any views on 500 fitted for a second hand one. Still not wholly convinced but getting there as i am keen on a quieter motorway drive.
  12. Yes definitely 1.4 she will get to 55 then to be frank feels a little unsteady but on long runs have gone to 60 for a while. Lower revs and maybe little better top end was the goal.
  13. Hi there, i have done a bit of searching on the subject of replacing my 1.4 transfer box with a 1.2 to me 1990,90 200tdi if you have done this what personal benefits did it make to your drive, my goal would be lower motorway revs and noise, maybe a little faster as it seems to be death defying at 55mph, i only tow a small erde trailer with camping stuff in it i have a roof rack to, the distant future may find me encountering a small caravan. i also have been quoted 500 quid inc vat to supply and swap, is this a reasonable price? Ta
  14. Hey, thinking of buying the fire and ice style tubular sidesteps, equivalent part no lr008379. Question isthe advert says for 2003 onwards, can these be fitted to a 90, 90 ta
  15. Its a 90, i fitted the sliding windows to Masai instructions and measurements just want to ensure i can match thr counties up otherwise its laselle and cut out myself.
  16. hi i am thinking of fitting county interior side panels to the interior of my Landy, i originally had van side and cut out the aperture to fit my new side windows from Masai. But i really want to ensure that the hole in the county interior side panels match my new windows position. Has anyone got a county trim that could take the dimensions of the interior trim for example length from back of truck to the cut out line on the interior panel and the same from the top, or confirm exterior Position of their side windows.
  17. Update, took the voltage to the first relay coil from the shut off solenoid supply, works fine just on when ign on, however being leds they dont take much current. I would ssy though they are bloody bright.
  18. Hi wasnt sure if that also would earth out via the relay coil and light up? Could splice in tonignt to see, have you done it this way?
  19. hi fitted the lights, using two relays. One controlled by the oil pressure feed, the other controlled by the side lights. So at the moment everything works fine except the oil pressure warn light stays on. As it is now earthed via the relay. Any ideas, a resistor maybe.
  20. Hi, i have a full set of springs and shocks for my landy, there is no instruction to differentiate between front, back, left, right. Does it matter or are they corner specific. H
