As a new member of this forum thought I would share my experience in the hope it may help someone else. Bought my 55 plate TD4 SE auto back in April of this year. Was very impressed with it but, despite a good service and some tinkering I felt it just wasn't as responsive as I felt it should be. I had been driving diesels for some years and never expected anything earth shattering but just felt the car could go better. Have just changed the crank case breather filter and for £30 I have just got a new car! The difference is amazing. The "lump" that I extracted must have been festering since the car was made as I can find no mention of it in the service history. I am so impressed by the difference that for Xmas I have asked Mrs Santa to get me an EGR By Pass kit. Have read great things about this particular modification and, hopefully, it will improve my MPG which, prior to dong the crank case filter, was somewhat disappointing. Will post update in the New Year.
