  1. If you bought the Megajolt box from TriggerWheel there should be a base map for a Rover V8 and a TR7 V8 included on a cd - if you don't have it I miht be able to dig it out somewhere
  2. Maybe a silly question - but you did a Save/Write after the VE analysis ?
  3. I'm using an Innovate MTX (which uses Bosch sensors), and have been pretty satisfied with it so far. Cheers Michael
  4. I wouldn't put a hacksaw to the loom - why not reuse all the wiring and add a few extra for the ignition ? Phil Ringwood/Shaun makes a MSII that re-uses the wiring, if you don't wnat to fiddle with it yourself
  5. Yes its a 1990 with 14CUX - before going full Megasquirt Ive run with an Electronic 123Ignition distributor - never thought it had a feed to the 14CUX - is that over the Coil it feed the ECU?
  6. What car/model is it ? My RRC 1990 when running on 14CUX gets absolutely no input from the distributor ? Cheers Michael
  7. No problem at all I just thought it could be nice to compare and poke around in well-working 3.9 V8 MSQ - even though I realise they'll never be 100% applicable from one engine setup to another.
  8. I'm only a newbie, so bare with me, and my stupid questions. So if you ever need some advice on how to build coorporate databases, Ill tell you "Theres only really two possibilities regarding computers - it's called Bits, and it's either 0 or 1" ....
  9. It's a Rover Pnp - I was just curious about how to check it
  10. MS2 is a bit different - it looks like it doesn't cut of at a specific number of engine cycles - but it "tapers". So I tried to put in your percentage figures, and kept the current taper figures. Cold start was not better than before - but the car has been standing for a few days, so I need some more Cold starts to conclude on that - but warm start seems much better - it still takes some cranking, but now it keeps alive without the need to "blip" the throttle. Is there anything else I can look at to narrow down then problems - and maybe get rid of the "abundance" of cranking ?
  11. It should be MS2 v3.57 - Phil Ringwood built it. Do you know what the "Bias Resistor Value" should be set at ?
  12. Found the Ohm values for a Rover V8 coolant sensor in FridgeFreezers post (http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=15317&page=11#entry234427) - but the Thermistor Table Tool also asks for a "Bias Resistor Value" - anyone knows what that figure is ? How can I check what sensor values are currently used ? Thak you Michael
  13. I've been reading up a bit in the Mega Manual - and it sounds like my Cold/warm start problems could be due to wrong ASE settings - can someone running a rover V8 show me their ASE Percentage and ASE Taper values/Graphs ?
  14. Thank you for warm welcome As mentioned Shaun helped me make a bood starting point, and the car drives very nicely indeed, and pulls like a train - compared to the old 14CUX anyway. The only minor problems I have now is with idle/startup. Cold startup: Bursts into life immediately, but needs two "blips" on the loud pedal to keep it going - after the two "blips" it idles nicely. Warm startup: Needs a fair bit of cranking before stumbling into start - after that it idles nicely. Thank you in advance for any hints - I'll answer your PM shortly Nigel Cheers Michael
