I'm happy to find this thread. I'm in No. Cal. and doing a soft dash swap to my '91 is something I've been planning for a while. I finally just got around to removing all the old hard dash parts and starting to test fit the HVAC etc. I do have a '95 soft dash in storage, but I long ago decided to use a Disco dash. I have a nice one I removed from a friend's '98 that he was parting out several years ago, but since then I've also acquired a '97 Di parts truck. You've answered a lot of my questions that have come up in poking about under there, and I can see I need to remove the dash from my DI parts truck and start to cut out some bits and pieces.
