Rovertym:
And TJM maybe?
-
For a Defender 90 - with the lift up handles. Anyone know of anywhere that isn't asking daft money? Alternatively anyone made their own custom jobs?
Looking for one on the driver side also. Closed the door without noticing the seat belt on dads Ninety... Now have a nasty hole in it =(
-
Today dad ordered the X-treme bumper I mentioned in the starting post. Thanks for helping out guys!
Have you got the lift kit yet?How much did it cost you?
Pete
Don't know Pete, got it with our donor Range Rover Classic. Will be mounted this weekend

We like this one also:
http://www.cheviot4x4.com/shop/Products/Bo...Winch%20Bumper/
Would like to see a picture of the front of the car and from the side. Same with the Devon 4x4 one to compare. Can someone who owns one get me this pictures?
-
Thanks guys!
Is the Dutch designed competition bumper the only one with the drum completely out in the open? Looks like a nice feature to get dirt easily out in serious off-roading.
overseas shipping wouldn't be a problem to him.A friend of mine near Hull will receive all of my UK ordered parts and I'll pick all up myself after all has arrived So will handle the overseas part of shipping myself

but also Raptor works well.
Thanks! Too bad they don't show any pictures of a bumper with Warn 8274 fitted. Would like to see it from both front and side to compare with others.
-
Protection&Performance, see http://www.ppcages.com . Just fitted yesterday and today together with my dad. Bought it off someone who had it laying around for 2 years but decided to do something else with his Ninety.
-
Did a search on the forum, but couldn't find more options than I already have listed. My dad has bought an '84 Ninety, and would like to fit the 8274 he still has laying around for it. What bumper would you recommend, and why?
This one we like the most, it's just a bit pricy with a price tag just over a thousand pounds....
Looks great though, and proven in challenges all over Europe allready.
Last week we bought the car like this:
And currently it's looking like this:
This weekend it will be lifted using an Equipe Extreme kit, and Maxidrive in rear axle with discs will be added. Now just the bumper and sliders left to choose.

Can pay in Dutch and Belgian beers also

I'll be going to Sodbury on the 18th, but a friend of mine asked me to pick up and drive back a Range Rover in Brighton he's bought. Who's travelling from Brighton to Beaulieu, and hasn't planned to use the passenger seat for bought parts? It will be just me and a backpack, my bought parts will be travelling with someone else.

Stay with the sliding ones, if you have the aluminium tops on it My second choice is windup/lifting handle. Pushbutton third choice, got them frozen in a very cold challenge weekend in the Belgian Ardennes a couple of years ago. Non-LandRover owners had a laugh when we were breathing out on the pushbuttons and trying with a lighter to open them in the morning....
A bit of grease might would have fixed the problem, but afterwards we were to late for doing that

Have a look at your brakes also. If your Salisbury axle is a 1984 one, it has drum brakes on it. You can get them with disc brakes also, don't know what engine you are running and if you have regular off road use planned. Cleaning a disc brake axle is easier after off roading.f

Aren't those pictures at the Russian website made at Witham SV? Been there 2 weeks ago, and when you look left instead of going to the toilet you'll have a similar view.

Mr. Pagan at Land Rover traceability or the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon.

€2000 a year here in Holland if it isn't a van....
-
you could write to the Heritage centre @ Gaydon for production info.
use the contact info here
Or ask mr. Pagan at Land Rover. Both are here in Holland accepted as a prove your car is made earlier. So after showing the authorities the HMC/Pagan information they'll change the data on the Dutch paperwork.
I wanted to do this with mine also, but only two weeks left for it to turn 25 years old now so it's a bit late for me to do it now

I like the Equipe extreme kit on my dad's RRC both on-road and off-road, no experience with other manufacturers though.
-
No problem Ralph, just host them somewhere else to be sure. I had some images disappearing from Tinypic before.
-
I would try getting a used Warn/Ramsey/Superwinch/etc for the same sort of money. But that's just my opinion, I buy almost all of my parts used.
-
Just bought a set of Koni Heavy Track Raids for my 110. The set didn't come with a manual, so a Belgian forum member was so kind to make pictures of his manual. Might be useful for someone else also, so here are the pictures:
-
They told me Disco 2 top front shock mounts should have mountings for eye instead of pin. Might be an option instead of custom stuff?
Will be using them also to mount my Koni Heavy Track Raids.
-
If you're selling to buy a 110, why don't you remove most of the extras you can use on your 110 also? There's plenty on your list that can be removed and made standard without leaving visible marks on the car.
-
Have one waiting here to go in my '83 110 Tdi, as soon as it's running. Will be ordering a MudUK dash, and the 7" touchscreen TFT will sit below the radio, with gauges on either side.
-
In a Disco I just bought for parts it was behind the rear seats, not covered. Don't think you should cover it up too much because of cooling? But leaving it out in the open on a pickup wouldn't be my choice also.
In m'n Defender I'll be mounting it below the passenger seat, next to my Webasto heater.
Galvanising a bulkhead
in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
Posted
I'm getting mine galvanised also. A friend of mine is making one good bulkhead out of two. My 1983 one, and a more donor. He told me the inner frame on the 1983 was looking much better than the later one. His explanation for this was that the later one uses more closed sections instead of open for the earlier one. So if water gets inside it's pretty hard to get it out.
A tip I've got from someone else was to brace the bulkhead on the chassis mounting points, so galvanising doesn't have any effect on this distance. He already got 4 bulkheads galvanised, and no major damage due to galvanising. To be on the safe side I'll bring mine to the same company as he did...
