Will it start if towed or bump started? Could be an internal pump problem that can't supply fuel at cranking speed but can at higher engine turn over speeds.
Chris Bowler
No chance if it is automatic:(
Have you try to read faults from diagnostic?

we are thinking about going there...we are considering pros and cons...and our possibilities

thank you for replies...my 3.9 is starting require bit of attention. And i need to decide if i will go rebuilding route or buy a new engine. In this case it is perfect time to upgrade to 4.6. I have MS2 and edis installed with janspeed exhaust and manifolds so there should be no big problem (i hope - especially with exhaust).
-
Will standard 4.6 fits into standard 3.9 auto gearbox (RRC)? is there difference in flexplate etc.? is it necessary to change torque converter to bigger one for use with 4.6?
many thanks

Is it possible to unscrew complete running body, lift it and place it to different chassis?
If chassis are the same, then yes...

35" Fedima is even higher than 35" Simex...Anyway without bodylift you will need to reshape inner arches. With bodylift there is chance to cut only fenders and put there some kind of extended wheel arches.
But for winch challenge vehicle i would choose route without bodylift....

check if you have spark and engine is not flooded.

One guy from czech republic should have one RRC with "Saudi spec AC" in his collection, but cannot find pictures anymore. It should be much more powerful than standard. Don't know if it is original equipment or aftermarket. but from memory it should have bigger radiator and compressor with two belts.
-
There should be some uprated AC for hot climate. But don't know details.

Car 25b, we leave this evening 5th July. 55 mph max, 1500 miles allowing 35-40 hours to get there
5 days before. Long trip. Are you towing your car?
We are going to made some roll cage for our car. There are still couple of jobs to do. Like snorkel, wading pipes, new solenoids for rear winch, front salisbury ARB locker, tripmaster and put there some seats.

i've converted my RRC to coils. but i wanted more axle travel for offroad than with air suspension.
For road car and very light terrain i would leave there air suspension. on road i found it much better than coils.
-
Good luck and personaly I would stay clear of 24a
Thank you. We know each other. i was speaking with them month ago. They are taking it very serious( support team, mechanics etc.). For us it is more gathering experiences. We still need to find someone who will take care about camping and will be "support" crue.

Hi,
We still desperately need a team mate for this, we are team 25a on the extreme entry list, there must be someone out there who fancies doing one of the best european events around?
Thanks
Philon and Alex
Hi,
you are searching for second car?

Hello,
we are moving forward slowly with our comp vehicles. D90 is being converted to pickup truck. D110 is still in pieces, but those pieces are at least in one garage. Still waiting for paint job on bulkhead and RH salisbury( or early 110) swivel for LHD vehicles.
-
yes, it is pump powered circuit.
-
hm, i am not used to MPG values...so maybe i am wrong with conversion...anyway my 3.9 was doing around 25-28L/100km in town. It is BRC without ECU.
-
10mpg on LPG is about right...but also depends on driving style, LPG system( closed loop...)
-
I had almost same sympthoms with loose wheel bearings. Play was not dramatic, but for brakes it was more than enough.
-
But in pre-serpentine belt engine, distributor is also powering oil pump! So be carefull with removal, otherwise you will end up with destroyed engine.
-
I bought that paddock kit few years ago and fitted to my RRC. It was not bad. Certainly much better than original sagged spring with almost not working shocks. But it was only starting point...
Now i am very satisfied with bearmach springs, +5 terrafirma shocks and gwynlewis mounts.

BW have slight higher gearing than LT. But nothing what could be really noticeable.
I am going to change BW for LT( defender TD5 one with 1.4). I am running 35" tires.

Hello,
friend of mine have similar problem with blocked brakes. He was changing bodywork and after refitting servo( was disconnected for couple of weeks) and connecting electrics it is not working properly. Diagnostic doesn't show any error code. All seems to be connected correctly. After switching ignition on and system is pressurized all wheels are blocked.

one car is still in pieces...shortened D110. Second car is D90.
