  1. Yes that would be fine if I got a RHD as you, but I don't. The steering link is in its way and it dosn't fit - been there done that! Bought a new manifold ERR678 for 200tdi defender and I still want to mount the almost new discovery turbo on top of it, and now I sorted it out my self. Take off the wastegate actuator and the small clip. Loosen the four bolts (use lots of wd40) holding the hot side turbine housing. Tap it gently with a hammer until it's loose. Turn it untill the center spool housing is in the right position. Tighten the four bolts again. Remove the large clip on the turbine inlet housing. Pull the compressor housing off not damaging the O-ring. Turn it in the right position and put it all together again. Tap two new holes for the accurator arm. Claus Pihl
  2. Okay thanks. I'm going to use a 200tdi defender manifold. so there wont be any trouble with the steering box. Now I'm down to one last thing troubling me: How do I turn or alter the angle on the cast iron turbine housing and the center spool housing? Claus
  3. Yes I all about these convertions. How to change COMPRESSOR HOUSING ANGLE on a 200tdi disco turbo claus
  4. Hi I'm hawing a Discovery engine fitted in my land rover 90 from 1987. Last week I bought a 200tdi exhaust manifold to replace the 19j manifold and 19j-turbo temporarily fitted. I'm planning on using the discovery turbo on the defender manifld, but the center housing is in the wrong position. The oil in and output hole's pointing sideways. How du I change it's position. using a spanner and lots of wd40 I've unbolted the four bolts holding the hot side to the housing but the thing wont come loose or turn. What am I doing wrong? Please help. Kind regards Claus from Denmark
  5. Hi forum I'm about to go mad I’ve got a major problem with my 200tdi defender. It develops a strange noice when it drives at about 70 miles pr hour or more. I sound and vibrate as if it comes from under the seat. It changes up and down in frequency every 1,5 second ad mainly when it’s climbing uphill or pulling heavy loads. I can only hear this when it is engaged in 5th gear(lt77) and after a mile or so from cold. So far I have nearly tried everything to solve the problem: New injectors. New fuel filter. New air filter. New rebuild lt77 (lr shop) New rebuild transfer case lt230 1.122 New prop shafts. New lift pump. New belt and pulley. New brakes. New clutch. I’m going mad. Please help me!!! Kind regards Claus Pihl Christensen Denmark
  6. All right. now i has been driving the 19J setup on the 200tdi for a few month now. It seems a lot better now. I've been turning the turbo a bit up by two turns, shortening the link. It runs werry well, same speed compared to other normal 200tdi's. There has not been any problems, so far the last 4000 miles so i think this is at any stage the easyest way to convert a LHD defender. The turbo sounds as it is supposed to, and it dosnt sound like its overloadet. I strongly recomet this steup as an alternative to the modified exhaust pipe. Thanks for the nice replys. Claus
  7. Inspiration and help regarding 200tdi conversion I was inspired by ROB 110 HICAP and his conversion to 200tdi using a 19J turbo setup. He told me that it really makes a difference. It makes a HUGE difference much smoother and lower noise and fuel consumption as well. I hope this will help some in their project or maybe inspire others to do this convert as well. The whole story can be found at: www.serie2a.dk Kind regards Claus Pihl (Denmark)
