  1. Hi Carl

I´ve found the PTO for the LT 230 secondhand on Ebay.

In my search for PTO I have within the last 6 months stumpled upon a turkish dealer, who makes PTO for the LT 230, can´t remember the name of the dealer thou, but try Google for PTO.

What kind of winch are you gonna use ?

    Cheers

    Morten

    Hi,

I have seen the turkish PTO, not got any info from them yet, spoke to D&G today for info on theres, so the search goes on,

The winch is of a gaz66 military truck i think,

    Carl.

  2. Due to some real bad luck, an EDIS 8 module has failed, it is used to fire the coil packs in the Megasquirt system, so I cannot start my rebuilt engine yet,

hopefully Saturday one will arrive and that should solve the problem.

Then I will see if it has any leaks etc, so basically, yes the plan it to enter, yes I will take it easy, and I won't know until the last minute.

Failing that I will marshall, and marshall hard if that's the case, and missdeamours will result in flogging with a birch, but I aim to compete.

Hope you get it sorted out, after all you trouble geting that 8'th piston to work, :P

    Carl.

  4. as a professional machinist I would suggest they would be better screwcut anyway.

It is far better, accurate and more cost effective to tap internal threads,

Any professional engineer or machinist will know that a small internal diameter thread cut in a lathe above say 2 X Dia will cause chatter and the cost of sandvik type tooling is more expensive than a left and right hand tap will cost,

Stick to taps, better job that most can achieve on a home lathe,

    Carl.

  5. Just coudn't believe it, got it home and took the diff out and the teeth had gone from half the pinion,it finished the last event drove in the garage then out and around the yard and on the trailer on saturday morning without a sound.

Realy p****d of was looking forward to this site, had a watch and it looked great see you at the next one.

Heard something about sabotage on your car and twiggys name mentioned or is it that Glyn has left his curse of unreliability on you,

  6. My type of events are 2 day with night stage, like you did on christmas chalenge and the tuff trophy is same type of set up and i like the one day type events aswell,

The GPS type events are a good thing but you would probably need more than one site and then it would need all trucks to be fully road legal, then the expense of gps system may be a issue,

    My thaughts anyway,

    Carl.

  7. This may go a little over the top as you are modifying not building new, but it does explain what goes on with your suspension and how small mods can make big differences in handling etc. Just changing one component can have serious implications. TBH spring seat angle is an indication of your axles angle, therefore pinion angle and upper ball joint angle, but the spring seat will not be parallel/level on a lifted vehicle. Also lifting your vehicle will actually reduce the articulation available on the upper ball joint. Obviously this is all for an ideal world scenario, but there are an awful lot of people out there adding massive shocks and springs and finding out their vehicle is undriveable.
