  1. I need to replace the rear diff on my 90. Is 3.54:1 normal ratio? Ta
  2. Just taken mine off, cut a length of angle drill and screw 2 bolts into the wheel. Now hammer a chisel between end of thread & angle & off it popped! Shame I've got the worong boss though!
  3. Hi, Can'r work this out. When i let my 90 stand for a few days the front shocks are really soft for 2-3 bounces then go virtually solid. Any ideas? I'm probably going to change them anyway just wondered if anybody knew what causes this.
  4. There's a bolt & lock nut on bottom of swivel. Mine rub but didn't fail MOT though.
  5. Great thanks, at least I know what I'm looking for now. That'll be next weekend now then, as they say never do today what you can put off til tomorrow!
  6. No screw buta small nut/clip type of thing. That's what confused me. It does have lift up handles.
  7. I thought I'd found an easy Saturday pm job, I'll change the 3 lock barrels on my 1986 90 which I bought about 6 months ago! Put the door card back on and poliushed the dash instead!!!! Anybody tell me how I do it, do I really have to take the lock assembly off? Thanks
  8. This was back in 1996 but they offered to replace a 200tdi with the "revolutionary" 300, it also leaked and was just as bad. They lent me a new p38a for a couple of months and in the end it was agreed that they would credit back the cost against a new RR, which I did. A design fault doesn't make it acceptable. I also had a problem with the gearbox on a new TD5 90 which I bought 3 years ago, wouldn't accept that the change from 2nd to 3rd should be that bad, again agreed to replace the box. Actually sold it before it got done. I've not found the service at LR dealers worse than any other make, I'm a serial car changer (ask my wife!!!) I've owned over 45 different cars so far. My opinion Audi/BMW worst & Jag best.
  9. Dealers will have to cooperate if you push hard enough, I speak from experience with 2 new Discovery's which ended up with a full refund towards a Range Rover. I actually got a new Discovery even though the first one had done 12k miles, it was sooooo bad. Don't accept cr*p service from dealers - insist on dealing with the Dealer Principal & don't threaten what you won't do, ie if you say you'll sue then issue papers!
  10. Anybody thought about making a bulkhead removal bar that then continues up and across the roof with strengthening supports leading back to the top of the tub. Idea being that when you move the seat backwards the belts are moved back as well so that they don't cut across at the wrong angle. If not does anybody fancy a go as I can't weld!!!!!
  11. Thanks everybody, I thought maybe Bilstein or similar would do something better than stock?
  12. I'm trying to get my 90 to the point where I can use it every day without the hard pogo stick ride. Whatever springs/dampers are fitted they are really hard and give a very harsh bouncy ride. Anybody know of any aftermarket springs/dampers that will give a more comfortable & compliant ride?
