  2. Bit lardy :P

Looks good, did you think about making it a little higher up? or would you run into clearance issues with the tailgate?

Yes, the bottom tail gate drops down, so it might have been a problem. It is a little closer in than standard. It is not as tall.

  4. 4x4 Response Wales Recruitment Evening – Llandrindod Wells

4x4 Response Wales will be holding a recruitment and information evening at The Llanerch Inn LLANDRINDOD WELLS LD1 6BG on Wednesday 26th May starting at 7:30pm. The evening is aimed at existing 4x4 owners who would be willing to make themselves and their vehicles available to provide logistical support to the Emergency Planning Service and other agencies in the event of severe adverse weather or local emergency.

The Group was kept very busy across Wales in the heavy snow in January undertaking over 100 callouts in support of Emergency Services, Hospitals, and Social Care.

Similar evenings held recently in Cwmbran, Llandudno and Pencader have resulted in over 60 new members being recruited in less than 6 months.

Anyone who is interested in finding out more about the Group will be welcome to attend the Llandrindod Wells meeting. Alternatively, there is plenty of information available from the Group Website at www.4x4responsewales.org.

It is planned to hold a regular monthly meeting in the area once a core local group is formed.

4x4 Response Wales organises regular training events in a number of relevant disciplines including Off Road Driving, Recovery Techniques, Communications and Navigation. Membership presents an ideal opportunity for 4x4 owners to learn to drive their vehicle safely off road and in adverse conditions and also to support their communities in times of need.

4x4 Response Wales is a registered charity offering logistical support to Emergency Planning Officers and Emergency Services during times of severe weather and other local emergency. The Group organises regular training and assessment weekends across Wales to prepare their volunteers and vehicles and to ensure that members can provide a high quality service when required.

  6. Yes I saw it as well , the 90 looked very smart , regarding towing a trailer for commercial use ,I thought you were alright if you were transporting your own goods

There must be hundreds/thousands of vans/4x4's etc towing everyday without a tacho

One passed me on the M54 friday morning, towing a trailer with big gates on doing about 80mph

  10. Pheasant Pen Steps. Please do not use it.

This another lane that has been abused/damage making it undrivable right now.

The grid ref for the "bad spot" is about SJ 172 311. Could people please give this lane a miss as it is getting dangerous to use. It is not the bottom; the bad area is about ½ way up.

I will be reporting it to Powys County Council. I expect them to issue a TRO on it until work can be done. CRAG will try to help out with the work and I will post back when I have more info.

  11. It looks like it should be done by easter. I would say about 30-40T of stone needs putting in. So as long as they carry on with it this week you should be ok. I will try to take a look before next weekend to see if it is done.

Let me know where you will be and I might get out to meet you.

    Paul

  12. You did. I apologized for not being clearer and a Mod has since amended my post and removed your and my (now superfluous) ones.

    Chris

Well that makes a bit of sense now! Just throught I was going mad (some would say I am past that stage ;) )

Ah ok, that was confusing :P

I will join up now to meet the locals :) Have been keeping a low profile as it seems many people are not fans of modified Land Rovers, Not one defender wave yet :( Most likely expect me to just come into the country and destroy it.

I now live in Carmel, close to Penygroes at the base of the mountains :) But I regulary commute across the country to University in Loughborough

    Adam

Lots of lanes in that area. Not many that can not be driven. There is another thread about north wales, I will post up when I have a free days and lead a group about in that area.
