I've been using Insa Turbos since 2006 and not had any issues with them, great tyres.

Or get a reasonable quality 2nd hand one for less. For example, This one which I think might be close to you, based on where you have told the forum you are.
Please be very cautious buying 2nd hand tools, there is currently an epidemic of tradesman's vans being broken into with a vast amount of tools being stolen and sold on, if we can reduce the demand for 2nd hand tools hopefully we can reduce the problem. Always check for initials engraved in them and ask where they came from.

I'd be surprised if you can find an 8mm bit to fit that SDS MAX breaker.

I use my battery SDS on a daily basis and am more than happy with it, anything up to about 14mm its fine, anything over then i'll change to mains.
I also find the cheaper SDS drill bits preferable over really expensive ones, the tips seem to last a bit longer if you don't snap the bit through misuse.

Check the rated Lumens output when shopping around. I found the same size bar from 10,000 lumens upto about 20,000 depending on price, i bought a relatively cheap one (about £80) at just over 13,000 lumens and have been very impressed with it.

Could you describe the actual symptoms? I.e. Soft pedal, excessive travel, etc
Just very poor stopping ability, I can push as hard as i like on the pedal but it wont slow down any quicker. Pedal is firm but has little effect on stopping.
Parts are a mix of Genuine, Bearmach and Delphi.

I've been battling with rubbish brakes for years and i'm out of ideas now, i don't think they'll pass the MOT this year so need some suggestions.
Stopping from 70 down to say 30 is ok, but from 30 down to 0 is hopeless, and absolutely cannot lock up the tires (235 grabber tr).
Over the years the following has been fitted:
Larger 110 front calipers, 110 vented grooved front disks, rebuilt rear calipers, solid rear disks, both Mintex and Delphi Lockheed pads all around, Lama stainless braided hoses all around, copper solid lines, rebuilt master cylinder, new servo, Dot 4 fluid replaced about 2 years ago and bled with ezi-bleed, good vacuum can be felt on the hose and the pedal drops when servo is evacuated.
Any suggestions?

This one has just past 10 years, but its always been covered from UV. It was just a thought as i'm replacing the rusty thimble and hook.

This might be a stupid question, but has anyone had success dying synthetic winch ropes at home? My dynema has gone from blue to white over the years.

Make sure you use anticlockwise paint otherwise you'll end up with transmission wind up.

What's the general consensus on this ? For long distance motorway journeys and light off road duties which would you recommend and why?

I've got an old Saley ni-cad driver has has served me well over the years, but i will be uprgrading to a Makita brushless li-on 5 amp when it dies. I use the small Makita impact drivers daily for carpentry and drive hundreds of screw in with them, great bits of kt.

Out of interest, what and where from are the composite panels you are planning on using? I ask as this is exactly the same build route i'm planning.

You'll now also need to submit a design and access statement for planning along with details of rainwater soakaway to BRE365.
The last garage I had approval on had over 35 pages for the planning application.

Why not use road scalpings and lay/compact on a nice warm day, that should give you a nice solid surface.

I use the 0805 in my vehicles, good picture quality and very discrete so can be left fitted all the time. Its worth getting the hard wired kit as well for it.

We didn't find anything deeper than about the cills to top of the tyres is July/August, but as Soren said its the flow.
Great pics Maverick, i'd love to go back for a winter trip this time.
