  1. Maverick - Was there any specific reason why it didn't fit on yours?
  2. Ooo...I'm breaking a RRC too, so have the tailgate struts. Dave is there any chance you could post any more detailed/closer photos of the fixings etc? Are there any specific measurements?...Or is it just a case of trial and error to get them in the right place?
  3. Sorted...will buy this one then. Thank you very much for your help/advice. You have saved me a few quid. Thanks
  4. Hi, Do any of you guys know this chap (he could even be on the forum?)... I'm looking at this conversion pipe for my 200tdi swap...just wondered wht they are like? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/defender-90-110-exhaust-conversion-discovery-200tdi-/320538001699?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aa18dc123 cheers
  5. Hi Mo, I already have (Derbys/Notts area)...or do you want me to be even more specific? :?
  6. Maybe I should have re-phrased it... Basically I'm after someone/company to do it for me at a price... I just don't have the time to do it in a week (I use the Landy on a daily basis)...I only have the odd Evening and Weekends free... If I did it on my own, I'd spend 75% of my time on here asking questions lol and not getting anywhere with it... I am willing to help anyone out on it...just I can't/don't want to do it alone...
  7. Hello, I have sourced myself a 200tdi Range Rover Classic as a donor car for my 19J Engine swap. I have stripped the RR of most parts...apart from the engine... However, the car is now sat on my drive awaiting for the conversion to be done. A guy that was meant to be doing it, is in delay and is not giving me any indication of when he will actually fit it for me...my parents aren't too happy now, because they now have a whopping RRC in parts in front of the house...(yes it looks an eye-sore!) My question is, does anyone on here do 2.5td > 200tdi conversions? Or know of anyone? I would have loved to have done it myself, but I don't have the tools/knowledge etc...I would be willing to help anyone...not sure if I have enough space to do it on my drive? I'm in the Notts/Derbys area. Any help would be much appreciated. p.s I have bought an heavy duty clutch and clutch fork from Paddocks to be fitted also. Thanks,
  8. Ok thanks. I've done this, but I think the seat fuse is blown! Any idea where this is? I've found a fuse box to the left of the console but can't seem to see the icon for the elec. seats. It is a 1992 RRC Vogue SE. Thanks.
  9. I'm trying to remove the electric seats out of a RRC but have no battery to enable them to move along the runners. I have removed the 2 front bolts from the seat subframe but I can't get to the ones at the rear. Is there anyway of turning something so that they roll forward on the runners? Thanks!
  10. Wow! Thanks for all of the responses...much appreciated...looks like I'll be going for it then! Is there any way of me working out, whether the axle will fit or not...what should I be looking for etc? It is a K reg if that is of any use? If anyone could give me a pointer, that would be great. Thanks once again p.s...I assume it also uses the same rad/intercooler/pipes etc as a Disco 200tdi?
  11. Hi, I've been in the market for a 200tdi engine for a while now, like many others...for my Def 90 '89 2.5td... I've been looking at Disco 200tdi's, but have come across a RRC 200 tdi... I've searched everywhere for this answer, but haven't got anywhere... A simple question really...are these exactly the same as the Disco 200tdi's...i.e. engine mounts, intercoolers, turbos etc...? Are they just as easy to swap over? Next question, I was told by someone I should take the axle off the Disco and put that on my Defender too...not too sure why, but anyway...can I do the same with the RRC? Or are these completely different? Think that is it...sorry for the novice question...I'm trying to learn... Thanks
  12. Seems to be more difficult than what I thought then. The reason I ask, was this: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201053349428354/sort/priceasc/usedcars/price-to/15000/model/defender/make/land_rover/page/34/quicksearch/true/radius/1500/postcode/ I need the rear due to having a dog...can't seem to find a 110 TDCi SW for anywhere near that price... Thanks for the replies.
  13. Hi, Is it possible or should I say, how possible is it, to modify a Double Cab Pick-up into a Station Wagon / Utility vehicle? Is it just a case of swapping the roof and rear door, and remove rear panel (that has the sliding window) and install the side panels? Or is it much more complicated? Cheers L
  14. Thanks - All sorted now. We'd connected the pipes the wrong way around on the lift pump...whoops haha! Cheers anyway
  15. Hi, I have a 2.5td 90 with a Fuel Problem...basically she won't fire. Glow Plugs etc are fine. I've changed the lift pump etc, but when bleeding the system, the fuel only drips out as such...it doesn't "pour" I think I have narrowed down the problem to being some sort of blockage between the fuel lift pump and tank as when I take the pipe off, which links the filter and lift pump, and turn the engine over, fuel only drips out. Is there a way of cleaning the bottom of the fuel tank or the pipe? Does that make sense? :s Could the poor flow of fuel be caused by something else? Please note that the engine runs fine after she finally starts up. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
  16. Thanks Mark and Dave... Going to have a crack at it tonight...wish me luck!
  17. I've got myself a set of Rover 200 Recaro Seats and now wanting to fit them... I've just had a quick look at how to remove the exisiting standard seats in the Defender...is it just a case of undoing the two bolts at the front of the subframe that goes into the Seat Box itself? Or am I missing something? Seems to simple... Also, as anyone fitted Recaro's? Would be great if someone could give me some pointers/instructions... Thanks Liam
  18. Thanks for your fast responses! I simply can't afford anything over £100, so the Exmoor Trim etc is wayyy out of the question The AX seems a good idea though, will have a look...I have saved the instructions/photo! Currently looking at Rover Coupe seats...noticed a couple of people have done this...looks quite good imo. Not sure how easy they are to fit though?...Any pointers? Thanks again. W.
  19. Hi, first post, so please be nice... The seats in my Defender are looking a little tired now (ripped vinyl), so after a new set (Front only). I've done a search, but can't really find anything specific... Basically, I am after a list of different types of seats I could use in my Defender? Requirements being: Comfortable (got a very long drive in my Defender soon) Look half decent Cheap'ish (i.e nothing more than £60/70!) Basically can be fitted without too much hassle (I don't own a welder) Access to battery box??? I've seen photos on here of Disco 2 Seats being fitted? Are these much hassle to fit? Sorry about all of the questions. W.
  20. Hi, First post so please bear with me!...I've done a search, but none the wiser! I brought a Land Rover Defender 90 (1989)2.5TD a few Months back. Everything as been going fine, until I did a service (noticed a bit of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust every so often). Anyways, I opened the air filter canister and found oil in there. Now to me oil shouldn't be in my air filter. I noticed I have a breather pipe running from the oil filler cap to the canister. This seems to be where the oil is coming from. I cleaned it all up and put a new air filter in (this in turn stopped the smoke...for a bit). However, today I checked the air filter again (due to me noticing smoke again), and the oil as returned to the air filter canister! Is my engine on its way out?...Why does the breather pipe go to my air filter? Can't I use something like this instead of connecting it straight to the canister? http://www.roadraceengineering.com/instructions/br... Any help much appreciated! Thanks
