  1. I have a 2001 Freelander 1 GS.Recently, the front offside tyre has started squealing when i make a sharp left hand turn.Not going fast either,eg car park or Supermarket.The front tyres have about 5mm tread .Any ideas please.

Is it much of a job replacing part of my exhaust on my 2001 Freelander 1.8 petrol.It is the center part from the cat to rear box.I can get the part for £36 but taking it to a garage i have been quoted £132.I have worked on cars in my younger days so i am not a novice. Looking forward to a bit of advice,thank you.
  3. Is it possible to isolate/bypass the heater.
  4. I have checked again,passenger carpet wet,(idiot me missed that).Antifreeze so i am assuming heater.Is Radweld a good option.Just had the expense of head gasket.
  5. My 2001 GS Freelander always gets steamed up when it rains.Completely dry inside and blower on heater okay.Any ideas please.
  6. Only 2 elements seem to be working on on my rear window demister on my GS,any ideas please.
  7. Got the head gasket done on my 2001 Freelander.Head skimmed,water pump and cambelt replaced,engine and cooling system flushed,head bolts replaced MLS gasket and pressure tested.and 12 month warranty. £430,work completed by AMW Motorsports of Bradford.Fantastic garage.
  8. I dont know.The only thing i can think of is that the guy said that he had just flushed and refilled the cooling system,that was in May.Three weeks later one of the hoses blew,he had not bled the system and it had built up pressure,could this have helped towards it.
  9. Got checked at a garage today,they confirmed the head gasket has gone.They gave me a quote which included,head skim,pressure test,cam belt,water pump etc,6 months warranty,£790.

  13. Why does my temp gauge rise from normal to max and as soon as i put the heater on max the temp gauge goes back down to normal. When i stop the cooling fans come on and blast away for about 3 mins.Some times i have to top up with water other times it is okay. It is a Freelander petrol 1.8 2001.It has just started to do this,i have checked everything but drawn a blank. Any ideas please.

  16. My 2001 Freelander 1.8 is my first 4 x 4 and am very pleased with it.What would the petrol consumption be on all round driving.
  17. I know what the cooling fan is for.It has only recently started doing it and the air con is not switched on.Where is the coolant temp sensor located please.
  18. I have a 2001 GS 1.8.It is full of water head gasket okay no water leaks and not overheating.From cold on a 8 mile journey when i stop the cooling fan starts up and runs for about 30 seconds.Any ideas please.
