  1. Thanks for that. Very much appreciated. JP
  2. Hi Funnily enough I was looking into exactly the same thing yesterday. Allisport - £355 - 25% extra capacity MM4x4 - £98 MPS - £90 That is for new rad only with oil cooler. A local radiator place had a new one for £130. JP
  3. Hi If you have any spare I wouldn't say no to a pair. Thanks JP
  4. Thanks David I'll save the tears for another day then. JP
  5. Western, thanks for that. I'm off to find something else to worry about.
  6. Evening all While faffing around on the car today (200tdi), I found traces of oil in the top intercooler pipe. Not a lot but I was just wondering if this is normal. I'm not quite sure how the airflow works through a turbo so I'm not quite sure where the oil comes from. Should I be terrified, mildly concerned or just go sit in the corner? thank you JP
  7. Jules I would be up being chauffered around for a giggle. I have virtually no experience but I'm a fast learner and I don't mind getting dirty. give us a shout if no one else comes up JP
  8. Greetings all Having removed the jerry can lockers from my ex-MOD 110, the steel frame has caused extensive corrosion along the body. I'm cleaning the frames up and they will be repainted. Will this be enough to prevent this corrosion starting again? And what do I do about the bolts? I was thinking a strip of rubber around the frame where it touches the body would help, maybe grease on the bolts? How about copper grease? I've done a search and there is not much on prevention. Any suggestions much appreciated. JP
  9. Thanks for that. I was planning on using the X-eng switch as well so I'll give it a go. If you smell something burning it's probably just me getting it slightly wrong.
  10. Thank you for your replies. I tried the search option but had no joy on specific wiring solutions. I was mainly curious as to what the function of that coil in the corner was. Also, Mark90, have you had any problems with them fitted? Do you have them both cutting in together or dependant on temp? Again, thank you for your help. JP
  11. Hi I'm planning a trans-Africa trip next year and have found www.africa-overland.net to be a very useful site. You might some useful info there. Sorry, not sure how to make it clicky. Good luck, and enjoy. JP GBMUD adds: Made clicky for you. For reference, add before the link and after it.
  12. Evening all. I have acquired a mondeo twin fan setup for my 200tdi. I know a few people have used this setup before and was wondering if you could advise me on the best way to wire it all up without melting anything. Both the motors have a 3-prong plug and there is what appears to be a resistor in the one corner with its own plug? My auto electric skills are a bit dodge so any help gratefully received. Thank you all JP
  13. Luckily, the boss has decided on Tangiers Orange and I decided to let her win that one. But thanks anyway.
  14. I have been a bit of a " lurker " on this forum for a while now and thought I would say hello to everyone. I have owned a '86 ex-MOD 110 for a couple of years now and have picked up lots of hints and tips from you you guys, for which a big thank you. The Boss and I are planning a trans-Africa trip for next year so I'm sure I'll be bombarding the forum with questions over the next few months as the preparations gather momentum. The next thing on The List Of Things To Do is a repaint. I was wondering if there is anyone in my general area who might be able to help out with with this in the shape of some handy barn/shed/workshop space. I am afraid the proximity of my neighbours and their cars prevent me from doing it in the car park or on the street. We have had various offers of which none have worked out so far and I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here. I have had a very generous offer of workshop space near Northhampton (space permitting), but seeing as I live in Walton-on-Thames in Surrey, I thought I would try other avenues first. Thank you all JP
