Hi my guess would be your preload's or poss a mix of preload's and loose or worn wheel bearings.

hi Stu mine gave no warning just a drop then a loan wheel fly past.

Hi to all, I have had two very worring issues with my wheels coming off!!!!!!!! I have a D1 V8, I am using the standard D1 alloy rims with 33" grizzley claws and a set of wheel spacers. The first time the wheel fell off was on the rear nearside and i was just coming to a stop so no real probs. i examined the wheel and found that the wheel was still bolted to the spacer and that the nuts weren't striped so i came to the conclusion that i had not tightened the spacers properly. As i was on the way to the tyre fitters i explained and asked them to check all the spacers and wheels and retighten them all. After this was done i traveled about 150 miles over a week and was then traveling back to the tyre fitters again to change my exhaust about a mile from them on a stright road doing about 45mph ther was a loud bang and the D1 drop at the front near side, i checked again and the same storey the wheel was firmly attached to the spacer, the spacer had come off the hub and this time damaged the disk. I put back together with new disks and this time i have locktighted the nuts on. I am more than a little cocerned that this could happen again apart from the potenial of more damage to my D1 the possabilty of a 33" wheel traveling at 45mph and hitting someone is the main concern. Sorry about the long explaination but i wanted to give a complete story. So now to the question has anybody had the same issus? i have had spacers before D1,s and a bobtail range. The spacers came from a 90 and after speaking to him he has not suffered this problem, all reply,s gladly sort thanks Duncan

Hi to all, i have just had a new full stainlees steel exhaust system put on d1 3.9 V8 (sounds awesome) but now the engine when on tick over wanders up and down by some 100 rpm. Do you think this is a result of the new exhaust? or by coincedence some else is causing it? Ta Duncan

Hi Have i have had a simalar prob have you checked the pre load on the chrome balls, also the steering damper, wheel bearings Duncan

THANKS TO ALL I have now sorted it with a flat bar slid it through the grill and tapped it with a hammer up it popped i will now do a service on it thanks again

Hi I am hoping someone has come across this before as i am stuck at how to go about it my bonnet relase has jammed up (poss broken cable) does any know how to get the bonnet open without the cable?

I had a issue on starting my 300tdi the problem was sorted by changing the fuel filter and draining the rear filter it was full of some yellow gunk. poss lift pump. long shot could be the tank has it ever been replaced? Good luck

Hi i looking for a inner and outer set of sills but are struggling to find where to buy and at the best price any idears will help.

I have had this issue on my 96 disco were when i first start the car and pull off the first time i try to brake it feels like the abs is cutting in but no braking seems to be applied (very scary) once you panic and press the pedal again the abs vibration on the pedal goes away and everything is fine. all help needed Duncan

Thanks for that Rhys did you have any problem with lamba sensors? and was the centre box a janspeed one. As my rear box has fallen off due to rot (hence having to replace) but the sound coming out without the rear box is carp. do you think your stainless mid box makes enough diffrence? thanks Duncan

I was hoping not to have to do that as the aircon has already empty so i don't think its dangerous anymore hence the question has anyone done this before and did they have any advice thanks duncan

Hi i want to remove the air con rad from my V8 disco because when i offroad the mud jams in between the two, and she then could get hot so has anyone done this. If so can give me a few pointers. Thanks Duncan

Hi to all i have a 3.9 V8 disco on a 95 plate when i start this from cold and first press the loud pedal I hear a wooshing (sorry only way to describe it) noise from the tunnel/dash area the noise increases as i accelerate, it doesn't seem to lose any water the heater works fine, and seems to go after a while. The guy i bought it from said his brother change the thermostat and may of put it in the wrong way? will it go in the wrong way? if so could this be the prob? any adivce Ta Duncan
