I'll second Ryan's comments. I sent my VCU to Bell engineering myself as I suspected it was past its servicable life as a brown grease like substance was leaking from it. It was collected on Tuesday, delivered today and at about 12 noon I got a phone call from them to tell me they'd tested it and it was faulty. Instead of being stiff the VCU was slack. So I agreed there and then to purchase a reconditioned one which I was told would be sent out tomorrow for a Friday delivery. Total cost to me was £14.99 to post my old VCU, £200 for the recon unit and £10 delivery. All in all I'm very pleased with the service and low cost of a fully reconditioned VCU.

Tanuki, Interesting what you say about snaking when towing a significant load as I tow a caravan. How did you come to learn about the increased snaking effect? Have you had personal experience of this?

Evening all, I am new to this forum but have had my FL1 TD4 for about 13 months now. Being a member of the Scottish Land Rover Owners Club I do some off roading and I am considering lifting it by 2" to allow me to go where my mates with their Deafeners and Discos go but I'm unsure which route to go. I have been looking on eblag and found what look like home-made 2" spacers (which would probably do) for £65 or there is a full blown kit on 4x4parts.co.uk for about £170. The kit has the spacers,bolts and brake hoses (braided by the looks of the picture) and is made by Bearmach. I think it make more sense to buy the kit but I'm unsure of Bearmachs quality. Has anyone on here lifted theirs? What parts did you buy? Do you have any pics and how difficult was it? Cheers, Gordon

£110 is a good price. I have General Grabber ATs on mine and I've found them to be excellent in all conditions (although haven't tried snow yet) and they are less expensive than the BFG AT.

I had the same problem on passenger front window, both rear windows and tailgate....in summer! On all windows except the drivers side rear the regulators were at fault....the tailgate has gone once again and have never got to the bottom of whats wrong with the drivers rear.
