Totally agree with Ralph on this one
I fitted one about 3-weeks ago took a small pipe off the vacuum return pipe (Turbo end) about 4cms in (the return pipe from the turbo-charger back to the injection pump) from a "t" connector rang the small pipe back through the bulkhead to a gauge i mounted in a small pod which i fitted horizontally to the left hand side of the main gauge consol left of the main speedo.
I sourced mine out of HKG via E**Y nice white gauge with bright blue backlight and reading PSI
the little kit came complete with "T" piece and length of pipe (subsequently discarded and stronger stuff bought)
All in all a interesting little project but with hindsight a little boy racerish

I had similar problems with the original horns
On the family`s everyday car (Clio 1.6 Initiale) it has twin Fiams loud & classy
ordered a pair and tucked them up under the front bumper pointing down - ideal for the job

it is possible to get a ring spanner on,
What i did a few weeks ago was to take a ring spanner and grind it thinner on a bench grinder
it may help

Morning 4X4
perhaps some one can help
I recently had to take the front prop-shaft off my vehicle & took it down to a local (specialist) for a replacement - who has gone into receivership with the shaft (hence i have no original)
Drive train configuration is as follows
R380 main box
LT230 Transfer box
both the boxes are from a Discovery I
Classic Range rover front axle
Have just ordered the prop-shaft part no out from paddocks FRC8386 which is a defender / discovery 1 compatible front prop-shaft I have found that the rear coupling is perfect size to fit the transfer box flange
Problem is the flange on the front axle is smaller than the flange on the front end of the prop-shaft
the defender flanges are of identical size its just the axle flange is smaller
anyone out there with any advice
1) is it possible to remove the smaller flange & put a larger (defender) flange on the front axle is so has anyone a part no
or
1) just buy a new prop-shaft with the defender (larger) flange & a smaller front flange a part no would really help
as delivery was to the continent it doesnt pay to ship the shaft back to the UK
appreciate any help

Morning
On my Defender I recently bought & installed the following gauges
in front of the steering wheel: from left to right
Rev counter - Fuel gauge (orig LR) - Water Temp
in the center console above the fuse box cover:
Oil Pres - Fuel gauge (2nd tank orig LR) - Oil temp
When i bought the vehicle the original gauges were dubious to say the least
I therefore bought the water / oil & preseure gauge new & of course the rev counter new via the E**Y and really reasonable too.
what with all the supplied sender units etc installation was staghtforward and to not leave anything to chance I by-passed the original cabling (you dont want to know why)
all in all it all seems to work and better still all gauges are believable
The next (last instalation) in the way of gauges would be a voltmeter , a oil temp for the tansmission and maybe a boost gauge for the turbocharge
hope this helps

Great posting & very helpfull
I have exactly the old steering wheel you had on my Defender
does anyone know of the compatability of any of the discovery steering wheels to any of the defenders
of course I would be looking at only the pre-airbag steering wheel
appreciate any help(light) you can throw on the matter
